In doing all this, I'm hoping to gather a million hits in a year's time. Given that the site has nothing to offer, that might seem a mean feat but then looking around the web these days, popularity is pretty unpredictable.

I say we help the man out, just for the hell of it. Enter the site, spread the site to all the forums you know, and IM every single person on your buddy list. I think this might get pretty interesting.

by advertising the fact that he wants people to visit the site, he makes the site about something, people visiting it for no other reason than to visit it. Then, since the point of people visiting is their visit, his site has a point. It's a bit of a paradox, the point of the site being the interest generated by the site, but he can't claim that his site is useless if he clearly states it's use as being "to see just how much interest we can generate"
