PIU certainly has some advantages over DDR and the 4-step concept. The song list is much larger (100+! for console) and has real unique videos, compared to the trademark star characters of every single mix. They also include letting you watch and listen their soundtrack once you finish the particular song (finally) and enjoy the music. What they need to modify, though, is the Home Mode. It feels just like Arcade Mode, but without a life bar. No removing notes, no adding beat or metronome, no tempo changes, unlike ITG. One of the few things that really separate PIU from DDR and ITG and other dance games is PIU having more Korean and pop music (and a lot of classical) over Japanese. Not necessarily bad, but it's a change from the more mainstream DDR. I'd say, get PIU because they sell it at GameStop for $29.99 with pad compared to the usually more expensive DDR.

Where I live it's all about Pump.

There is no DDR machine in our only arcade, Only PIU and ITG. And Nobody is ever on ITG.

PIU has so many more step patterns where you can't look at the screen unless you double step, making it more difficult and better for free-styling.

I really like PIU.DDR players are nothing compared to PIU players.People who start playaing pump it up before ddr will later be able to pwn ddr.Pump it up has better songs. And they sound so good that it makes you want to put the songs in your mp3 player. Its all about Pump it up!!!
