Re: Final Fantasy XIII -3
Ugh dat FF8 Disc 4 you really nailed the entirety of what's wrong with it. Great game, but ugh, really, was that necessary? What a buzzkill.
PS No one on earth played anything after FFXI. You can't play games that play themselves.

lmfao
Never too late to start! FFIX is worth playing IMO. It definitely has a "back to the roots" feeling in many ways. Lame-duck why-the-fsck-are-you-even-here final boss battle though. |

Re: Final Fantasy XIII -3
In case you haven't seen them you should check out spoony's reviews of Final Fantasy games.
FF8: http://spoonyexperiment.com/category...-fantasy-viii/ FFX: http://spoonyexperiment.com/category...nal-fantasy-x/ FFX-2: http://spoonyexperiment.com/category...l-fantasy-x-2/ Albeit that humor wont appeal to everyone (aka loosen up fanboys) but he raises a lot of valid points about the games. Do check those out of it you have time -- he makes it entertaining and informative for most of the longer duration of these videos. |

Re: Final Fantasy XIII -3
You guys and your nostalgia are crazy. Also, don't kill me cause I didn't really like IV and VI much.
@Emanresu13: I'd hardly call the platform the game is on a pro or con, but that's just me. |

Re: Final Fantasy XIII -3
I don't think they're going to stop pumping out MMO's anytime soon, which is a shame.
Now I have this huge urge to replay FF6 and FF7. Believe it or not, even though I love FF7, there are some things about it (certain plot details) that I totally hate. |

9 is great but after having replayed it 6-7 times and beaten it at level 1 + speed ran it, I feel it is weak in a two areas: 1. It's ridiculously easy. Several of the games in the series suffer from this, but this one more so than the others IMO. It's easy to the point that you can pretty much never level up, ever, and have absolutely no problems. Weapons+armors are overpowered and pretty much negate the need for any training. 2. Surprisingly restrictive. You never get to make the damn party you want and you're usually forced to go somewhere specific until late disk 3. The linearness in this one is deceptively strong. Quote:
Replayed 6 on the GBA remake not long ago, since I've never played it. I recommend it if you do replay it, because there's a bonus dungeon that is surprisingly difficult.

Re: Final Fantasy XIII -3
I have mixed feelings about Midgar. It has its boring parts, but overall, it's an interesting location that has some cool action sequences and detailed scenery.
I actually like that it's long -- but for an unusual reason, perhaps: I remember the feeling I had when I first left Midgar many years ago on my first play-through where, despite how long it took to get out, there was this huge sense of awe at the realization that I had finally reached the World Map and the game was just beginning. That moment, for me, was one of those "omg this game is going to be epic" moments. Last edited by Reincarnate; 08-18-2012 at 10:30 AM.. |
