Georgia law maker calls for caning, executing marijuana offenders.
A Georgia law maker is trying to push for caning minor pot offenders, (hitting someone with a wet hard cane about 24 times causing deep and bloody lacerations) and executing those who sell it, while also publicly threatening those who are against his views, by releasing their names to their county sheriffs to be on the lookout for them, purely because they're on the opposing view. What the **** is wrong with this guy?!

No from what I hear there was just a raid in a medical clinic in LA. But I'm pretty sure that here in CA legalization is up for voting this year

well considering it was from him an email to a "legalize weed please" organization I'm sure he was joking/exaggerating just so he could laugh at potheads getting all butthurt about it

Obama has made it so federal law can't interfere with state law. Basically, the DEA cannot raid dispensaries anymore purely out of marijuana's nationwide illegality like they used to do. If a dispensary is being raided, then I'm assuming and very much hoping to believe that it is because the dispensers are in some way going about the nature of the business illegally. |

Re: Georgia law maker calls for caning, executing marijuana offenders.
your habit is illegal. organizations trying to legalize it are all run by persons who participate in illegal activities. whether you agree with the law or not you can't expect a LAWMAKER to appreciate you completely ignoring the laws of the country, and there's no reason to expect him to act professionally towards a group of people who actively and vocally break the law on a daily basis.
(sidenote: I really don't care whether weed is legalized or not; it's obviously not a harmful drug but then again "you give an inch they take a mile")

Not always bro. Pretty sure the official stance of the libertarian party is in favor of legalization. They're not a crazy pothead lobbyist group, they're a legitimate political party. You may have heard of Ron Paul, basically a libertarian (of sorts) running on the Republican ticket. He "opposes the federal War on Drugs, and thinks the states should decide whether to regulate or deregulate drugs such as medical marijuana." Now, that's not to say he is in favor of legalization per se, but he is in favor of letting the states decide, AS IS INDICATED IN THE CONSTITUTION (in other words, federal drug laws of this kind are UNCONSTITUTIONAL). Not everyone in favor of legalization are wackjob potheads. Many of them are simply LOGICAL persons who realize the drug is harmless pharmacologically, that tax revenues would be enormous, and that it would keep minor drug offenders out of trouble with the law (which would save them money on law enforcement, attempted prevention, and also would minimize cases of incarceration for marijuana offenses). Not to mention that if it were legal, the black market would dry up and it would probably be more difficult for minors to obtain (drug dealers don't check IDs...). hi i dont smoke I just recognize that it's a safe thing that a person should have the LIBERTY to take part in IN THE PRIVACY OF THEIR OWN HOME. Who the hell are you to tell me what safe activities I should be allowed to partake in int he privacy of my own home? Quote:
Oh, and the substance itself is no more damaging than playing video games or watching TV. Rape, on the other hand, is a violent sex crime which ACTUALLY has a victim. Who is the victim of the "crime" of marijuana use? And if you extend the definition of "victim" to include one's self in this case, wouldn't the same person be a "victim" of a "crime" of watching television for hours and hours every day? Who are you tell a person they shouldn't be allowed to do something they enjoy just because you believe it makes their life not as good? I think World of Warcraft has a terrible effect on peoples' lives, but should it be illegal? Hell no. People should have this thing called LIBERTY, at least within the confines of their own private residence.

why is it a bad idea? alcohol is much worse and causes far greater problems than weed does and its legal.

but then invest in campaigns about control and avoiding abuse like any other substance, as well as arresting for driving under the influence etc.
