Default britishbmx is the greatest poster in the history of the internet.

Posted in Chit Chat because of epicness.

So, one of his most recent evasion accounts (for those of you not in the know, he's evaded his ban well over two dozen times and has been IP banned since we didn't want to bother with him anymore) claimed that he has been a mod on the Gentoo forums for a long time now. This place seemed pretty mature, as it was a very involved linux forum with a worldwide userbase. Before I knew it was british, I called BS. I then found out who it was and still called BS, so I registered over there and sent a PM to the guy who seemed to be in charge.

I got a response, and had to keep from laughing for fear of waking Amanda up. All the bolded parts are added here.

My PM:

Subject: Staff Impersonation?

Howdy. My name is GuidoHunter, and I'm a moderator of the FlashFlashRevolution forums. I'll be the first to admit that I don't know the first thing about what goes on here, but I come wishing to know a little more about a peculiar situation.

There is (was) a member on our forums by the name of BZR. He had a very unimpressive first post, but I noticed that he claimed to be a forum moderator of the gentoo forums. I wondered what kind of forums would moderate someone who posts like this. I come here and see that not only was his post 100% wrong, but that this seems to be a site about pretty serious computer things (like I said, I don't understand much beyond recognizing "serious computer things" =) ).

Upon a little further inspection, I found out that he was an alt of someone the FFR staff knows all too well. He's an eighteen year old high school graduate from Seabrook (Houston), Texas who may or may not attend the University of Houston. He's been banned from FFR for asking a girl to flash in our video chat and for telling a site admin to go f*** himself. On top of that, he's evaded his ban at least two dozen times, and as a result has been IP banned, which he continues to evade.

Y'all seem to be running a pretty classy operation, here, so I hope you understand my questioning of his moderating here. Knowing him for as long as I have on FFR, too, I also doubt his skills in this type of field. Also, I searched through the moderator list and found many people from all over the world, but nobody from Texas.

At FFR, we take staff impersonation pretty seriously, even when it happens on another site, so I felt I should at least bring this up to you.

Granted, this guy is banned-on-sight with us, so whether or not you have a problem with it is more or less irrelevant at this point. I'm still curious, though, if he does indeed moderate here. I could give you many email addresses/screen names for cross-referencing if you wish, but I can't say I expect anything more than a simple "no".

For what it's worth, here's what he had in his sig:
Forum Mod For Gentoo Forums (March 2005-Present)

If you choose to respond to me, I request that you email me at [myemail]@gmail.com. If you don't want to, though, I'll be sure to check my PM's here.

Thanks for your help.

--Guido
His response:

Quote:
Hi Guido,

Thanks for the heads up about BZR, he is not and never has been a moderator
at the Gentoo Forums. The PM sounded familiar when I received it and after
some digging I found that a user Nikadimus [another evasion account he used here at FFR] had sent me a PM a couple of
months ago asking if he could become a moderator. He claimed to have been a
moderator at FFR for "nearly 1 1/2 months"
.

From what I can tell
(http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...71#post1035471)
Nikadimus is actually BZR and was banned from FFR for having a username that
was very similar to an existing mod on your forums.

We've now banned Nikadimus from our forums and will keep you up to date with
any updates in the situation, hopefully you'll do the same.

For what it's worth Nikadimus registered on our forums with this IP address:
[removed].

Thanks again for letting us know about this situation, it's always important
for moderators of different forums to co-ordinate in these kinds of matters.

Tom (tomk)
Ah, what a g.

Good thing there is no war. Because you know, when that stuff happens, we all have to go make an account on their forums and post a ficticious story of how much better we are compared to them.

It'd be a lot of trouble to make an account.

War efforts. =\

British really got caught with his pants down.

Then he got caught again with his pants down two dozen times, tried to make up for it by claiming that he caught people with their pants down at another forum, then went back to that forum with his pants down and told them that he caught people for having their pants down at the first forum.
