RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: TWG XVII Postgame
What wasn't fair about it? We discussed TWG, the same as you would do with someone either over AIM or on the phone. And I know some of you talk to each other on the phone, so why wouldn't you discuss TWG as well.
Nothing in the rules says you can't discuss TWG on the phone with anyone... why not write that into the rules too, because you can hear their voice. Just pisses me off at how bent out of shape all of you get at the things I do. Some more than others. I appreciate the support from those who see things the same way that I do.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: TWG XVII Postgame
well it wasn't fair because fairness by definition implies that all players can do it... and all players can't see other players face to face.
legal does not equal fair. |

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: TWG XVII Postgame
I have to go with Tass on this one. All is fair in love and war, and TWG. It wasn't against the rules, and any of you would have done the same. Not doing it would be stupid, don't give me the whole "It ruins the game" crap, because in games their are winners and losers, so why wouldn't you take every legal action to ensure victory. "Well, we could nuke Japan and win the war, but that doesn't seem nice or fair".
Now, to my pm thing. I did it for some fun, to get people interested if they were green, to keep myself alive, and save the special roles. My first PM read Quote:
The next clue read: Next Clue VFhWcGRHRnpJR1Y0Y0c5emFjT253N1ZsY3lCa1pTQlVWaUIwdzZwdElIVnRZU0JqWVc3RHA4T2pi eUIyWVhwcFlTNGdVWFZsSUhCaA0KYkdGMmNtRWdjM1ZpYzNScGRIVnBjaUJoSUhaaGVtbHZJR1po Y21saElITmxiblJwWkc4L0lBPT0= Base 64. It translated to "Many T.V shows have a blank song before the show starts". The answer is Theme. My next clue wasn't finished, but it was going to read "If you combine the answer to part 1 and the answer to part 2, and find the answer to that question, you will discover my role" Which would be The Theme of the Rennaisance is? Now their were many themes of the Rennaisance, but the correct one was Humanism. Jurs got the farthest, completing all my possible clues. Good game all, I think we should delay signups for a week again (mainly because I'm hosting a quick jTWG game, and I want to play) |

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: TWG XVII Postgame
Yea, Tass' tactics are lame as hell. He used an unfair advantage (OMG WHAT A SURPRISE) just like before with the whole PM scandel. Also, if not for his pegging Whorli, he never would have had such an easy time with eb and whoever else.
Also, Tass said that phone calls should be outlawed. I don't see how that makes any sense. Talking to someone on the phone is TOTALLY DIFFERENT from SEEING THEM IN REAL LIFE. Besides, all players have the ability to call all other players (given that the recieving player is cool to talk on the phone). "BUT WAIT AFRO SOME PEOPLE CAN'T CALL OTHER PEOPLE WHO LIVE FAR AWAY OMG!" That's retarded. Many of you may remember the recent Skype fad. Yea, anyone can call any TWG player on Skype. In fact, I think it'd be really cool if we all got in a conference next game or something. One shouldn't have to cheat to expose weaknesses in rules. It was talked about before that IRL relationships shouldn't be allowed, yet it was allowed this game. All I have to ask is "why"? All in all, I say LD wins for fooling everyone. The only people he didn't fool were people who were lucky enough to be in the know. GG LD. I sure hope I didn't forget to post anything I thought of during the duration of the game. I'm definitely looking forward to next game. It's been too long.

GG humans. Sorry I let you guys down, but I knew as a limited Seer I would have to be careful with my powers while still building an alliance. It just so happens that my first choice for an alliance member was evilbutterfly, which got me killed night one.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: TWG XVII Postgame
Afro, I agree with just about everything in your post except for the part about Skype. The reason seeing people IRL has been outlawed is because not everyone can do it. While Skype is free and all, and while I really need a headset, I don't have one yet, as I'm sure a few others don't. I'm not really saying OMG SKYPE SHUD BE ILEGAL, I'm just saying it's not a completely legitimate argument when compared to talking on the phone.
Oh, and if you really care that much, you can call someone long distance. XD But yeah, as TWG progresses, more and more loopholes will be noticed, often exploited, and then addressed. There's nothing you can do about that. |

RE: Re: RE: TWG XVII Postgame
Everything I wrote during the game I wrote as though the game were over. If you want long drawn-out rants about how angry this game made me, go back and read when I died. You people just followed Tass and his stupid ideas, and he used unfair tactics to get one of us. I also still stand by what I said about never playing TWG with Tass ever again. If he signs up in TWG I will go to jTWG, but if Whorli gets to TWG first I will stay with that. I know some of you would be happy to follow me in this Tass boycott. It's not that I don't like Tass as a person (I don't know him personally), I just hate who he is while playing TWG and don't want to have to deal with it.

I wonder how many people would be complaining if tass had been wrong about whorli...
eb, I respect your position, but I do think your solution is childish. just focus on the content of his posts, not the way he says it. |

I guess you could say Tass is a little *assertive*, but it doesn't bother me, really. Maybe that's because he's usually right, haha.
Anyway, next game, plz? |

RE: Re: RE: TWG XVII Postgame
I have to say that knowing a role when someone died was a huge aadvantage and let me extrapolate a lot that i otherwise normally wouldn't have, and it allowed me to just put utter trust in jake. If roles wern't announced when dead, and if jake was say, Alain, then I could easily believe that he woudl be lying to me, even with me guarded, since any real guardian would have guarded me anyways *hint hint, that would be an awesome STRAT* but knowing roles when they die just makes it too risky for that to work. Also, I'd been waiting for the game that I could announce my role day 1. With roles being known and knowing the seer dead, it was even easier, however I strongly reccomend others Don't, unless they're awesome like me, since it ties up a lot of resources, and really screws shit up, now that people see it as a viable option, it can be fairl easily countered.
Also I have a game with good roles set-up but I much rather play, so if anyone wants to host, please contact me and I'll give you good roles to use for a fun game. This crowd would LOVE a kingmaker Also, I was kind of upset about LD because I figured him for a wolf a couple days ago, but Tass kept telling me he was 100 % human, so I didn't push the issue.

I must say, I thank the Lord we only had 16 players - I had completely run out of in-show ways to kill people off.
But I did have fun with this one; a lot more so than the IRC one, as I thought would be the case. :x I'm up for hosting again some time in the future, I've got a really simple but hilarious theme planned.

I want to pat myself on the back for successfully attacking eb and Hans. Such an occurrence is rare.
My thoughts on the Voyeur: Use it again. Not always, though, but if we're going to have another blue-oriented game it's awesome. It's practically another guardian for three nights, used for threat of protection. I can't think right now, otherwise I might provide a useful postgame, but my game was rather uneventful (that is not to say not fun, though). --Guido http://andy.mikee385.com |

I have to say I agree with eb. Tass pissed me off after Day 1 of this game, and I wasn't even playing. Not only was he using an unfair tactic to get an advantage for the human team, you all brushed it off. Now, you're all bowing down to him for what he did. All you're doing is boosting his ego, making him feel superior to us in TWG. If you want an elitist in TWG, be my guest. It'll end up ruining the game for the rest of us.
As for subsequent games, I'm sticking with eb and not playing with Tass until he learns to cool it, until... 1) He stops acting as if he's so "mighty" when it comes to TWG. A team player is not boastful about his own accomplishments. With Tass, boastful is hardly the word. He practically worships himself. You can point out something that you thought was helpful, but don't rant on about it. Quote:

2) The rest of you stop stroking his ego. Every time you praise him for what he does, you raise his pedestal a little higher. Then you wonder why you feel so inferior to him, and why he treats you like such an idiot when you goof up in a game.

Uh, nforcer, we're not "stroking his ego". Regardless of the situation with Whorli, he pegged eb and Hans very quickly, and when you peg wolves, you deserve credit for it. He's pretty freakin' good at this game, I mean come on, you can't deny that. Also,

True.. but that shouldn't take all the credit from him, IMO.
Now who would like to host this next game? =) |
