ah, Precarious knew that n2 watcher was safe because that's what Cocoa was
you are probably better off claiming anything that a dead person was there, Precarious. You can easily narrow it down, and something like n1/n3 roleblocker (you can even say you roleblocked lar!) is a lot more believable

Re: TWG 188: MAD17, Who's Role Is It Anyway? [POST GAME]
oh yeah I didnt really have to deal with the roles. and tbh these roles were kind of wierd I just kind of looked over them. Thats one thing I am going to try to understand more is how the roles impact these games.

Re: TWG 188: MAD17, Who's Role Is It Anyway? [POST GAME]
Sunfan, you had a good town circle but still couldn't converge on the final wolf via reads. A PoE approach isn't bad but you have to convince other people to follow your will after you die. That didn't happen, so your reasoning in this respect did not sufficiently alter the game state.
Maybe this is isn't fair to leverage against you but I think town relied on you as a leader and IMO you fell a little short there. Anyway, I have come to like this setup and would like to see it run again... since this game didn't really showcase it's mechanics too well.

town's gotta pick up the slack too
you can't just rely on a leader to point out lynches |

This is more of an abstract thought, but I think the ability to rally people behind your cause, even if you have low confidence, is one of the most important skills in this game. There wasn't a whole lot of town leadership this game (suntan came close) and chaos took over.
Being correct doesn't matter if you can't get others to follow your will |

I'm not suggesting that sunfan played poorly, but rather that he, along with most other town, were incapable of preventing the gradual downfall of town. And sunfan in particular was in a position to exert more influence in the right direction but it didn't happen. There's a chance my perspective is blinded by frustration with the game as a whole, and that I might be misrepresenting sunfan's play. It's just, with kappa, jessie I could point to specific things they did that threatened the wolf team, and I have the perception that sunfan had fewer moments like that. It's not a sunfan-specific thing by the way, I'm only saying this because he asked specifically. |

I think being dead and seeing how the game progresses towards salvation or towards ruin can alter your perspective a little bit
thinking of my perspective from inside the game, it shouldn't be only sunfan that can lead a case against me to get me lynched it seemed like people were getting complacent with their reads this game |

Ideally every player exerts this assertive leadership style and pushes forward, towards the path they believe in. Town getting complacent 100% shut this game down. Kappa went against the grain and pushed for his own reads really hard but he lacked the ethos to be taken seriously (largely antori's fault). I know sheeping happens and not everyone has the answers but ideally several players are vocal and assertive about their beliefs. I suppose the more general theme is, in my opinion, that having good ideas and good reads shouldn't be the main indicator of quality of play. Ideas and reads need to result in lynches. The impact of a player's play should be determined more in terms of outcome and consequence than of reasoning. (Not that good reads aren't admirable or valuable! But not sufficient) That's all I guess |

You didn't play bad, the wording in my original post was "played [well]"; the negation of that isn't "played bad" since there's also "played average", etc. There are players who played flat-out bad but I'm not gonna go there |

Re: TWG 188: MAD17, Who's Role Is It Anyway? [POST GAME]
So my one big problem was a gave up too fast.
I think I let myself get too unmotivated when Xel said I 100% disagree. At that point I felt done and I couldnt win. Next time even if it is a lost cause Ill die fighting . I know I made other mistakes and if anyone wants to point them out ill be happy. I want to get better. I only played for a little while but, I had fun. |
