i feel for you EnR but you have no idea... Ottawa is the same tempature (with the windchill) but the puplic transportation is on strike. i have to walk 3 times farther to get to class, then walk back at night when its even colder.

Re: Isn't winter amazing.
Ended up getting a ride to school by Eric's dad. His suspension was frozen on his 06-07 F250. Also, there was pure fog or something, we couldn;t even see 50 feet infront of us.

Re: Isn't winter amazing.
It was probably frozen fog, which is stupidly dangerous. It can easily reduce visibilities to zero.
Stay safe Canadians, but in the meantime, I'll be enjoying my day time high of 84 (~28 or 29 C), rofl. (Yes, it's winter.) Last edited by foilman8805; 01-14-2009 at 10:48 AM.. |

Re: Isn't winter amazing.
There's a high of 68 degrees here in Florida today. I love it when the weather is like this here. It's cool enough to sit out in the warm sun and not get all nasty and sweaty.

Re: Isn't winter amazing.
Seriously, damn. I'm used to living in EXTREMELY warm/hot weather so the winter is really annoying here in Virginia for me cause I'm still not used to it, even after living 6 years here. I guess I'll HAVE to get used to it cause I'm planning on going to college in Minneapolis and it's sure as hell much more colder up there.
This morning it was about 28°F (-2°C) and I was wearing capris, thin ankle-high socks, pink tanktop underneath a black graphic tee, a heavy leather coat and the scarf I got for Christmas and I was FREEZING to death waiting for my early bird teacher to get to school. I was shivering so bad, it was terrible. Thank God though that I left my thermal clothes in my gym locker cause I went there ASAP after my teacher got to school and put them on. I'm definitely a huge wuss, but I can't wait for spring. Hands down, the best weather because it's not too cold and not too hot in the spring. :] |

I live in NFLD, and I just spent 2 hours shovelling all the snow from a 4 hour snowstorm this morning.

Re: Isn't winter amazing.
Same here. I love really hot and humid weather but I can't stand anything 30 degrees or lower.

Re: Isn't winter amazing.
Hahaha, we're supposed to have air temps tonight that are 15 below zero (Fahrenheit), with wind chills near 35 below zero (also Fahrenheit). Quigly and Cata, come on over, and see how it feels for your face to freeze, for your nose to be runny, and for your feet to be numb.
[/somewhat vivid description] P.S. Coldest air in Chicago since '96. That's a good wake-up call that it's NOT SAFE OUTSIDE. |

Re: Isn't winter amazing.
It's been snowing non stop here in Ohio all day. We're supposedly getting down to -30 degrees F (about -35 C) with the windchill. Pretty Insane. Just goes to show how much of a problem global warming is nowadays

Re: Isn't winter amazing.
I hope extremes don't happen in the summer either. I don't want to be in a summer where it's 110 degrees in Chicago; not like it will bother me, I'll go to the beach. ^^;

Re: Isn't winter amazing.
You should come over here where it's 100+ degrees colder. That nice, warm, numbing sensation is only your body suffering through frostbite.
