Re: Torrent's Semi-Daily Music Recommendation Thread!
"Crying Over Pros" is simply one of the best albuns ever made, and "CYB" is the only decent album by BMTH.
Edit: MANY THANKS for this list, I'll check every band there. Last edited by Shikari; 11-4-2010 at 06:22 PM.. |

Why not? I don't think anyone would be against me updating the main post with potentially new music.
Ps I'm not sure I like you posting a gigadump of links in a thread that is self-titled. The whole purpose of this thread is to show some of the albums I've came across while browsing the internet. |

I felt your suggestion for a hardcore band was inadequate, seeing as Bring Me the Horizon, Suicide Silence, and whatever other bands you suggested were metalcore, so I posted a gigadump of actual hardcore and actual post-hardcore, as well as emo/indie for the gentleman that requested suggestions for Menomena, whom you didn't even reply to. That said, have fun with your blog here. |

Re: Torrent's Semi-Daily Music Recommendation Thread!
It's weird that you called most prog metal pretentious and then expressed admiration for the Animals as Leaders album. In my experience, most of the "anti-proggers" have listened to too much Dream Theater (who can come across as pretentious) and not enough of the good stuff (Pagan's Mind, Pyramaze, Adagio, Stride, Symphony X). I totally disagree that prog is pretentious.
Also, I find that Animals as Leaders is way more self-indulgent than most prog metal; lots of random chugging riffs, sporadic acoustic interludes and not much melodic substance. Just my thought. If you like that kinda crazy time-changing stuff, though, you should check out Planet X.
