Because of the path that Activision is taking with Guitar Hero.
You're probably the first person I've heard of that actually isn't pissed about these games. |

Really, I mean these games are fun but again they just get worse and worse because of activision. If Harmonix were to stay as the creator these games would be 11X better.

Whatever. Just don't buy it.
It's literally the best strategy. Activision will see how much it sucks, and they won't put out a whole ****ing game on Metallica next time. It'll be SLAYER instead! **** YEAH! Last edited by foilman8805; 06-3-2008 at 12:53 AM.. |

*sigh*
IMO, any GH w/o a number behind it is garbage. This will likely follow that trend. The only one I would buy is Guitar Hero: Black Sabbath. GH:IV for the holidays? Alright, but I better have a 360 by then so I can actually play it -.-

Re: You've got to be ****ing kidding me.
Actually, even the so-called Guitar Hero 4 isn't really Guitar Hero 4. I think they're calling it Guitar Hero World Tour.
But that's beside the point. I think the major problem here is releasing tons of games for no reason. These songs could easily be DLC song packs and run on the same engine. It's not like each iteration of the series adds something new to the game, mostly it's just new songs. Now, obviously the one with drums and vocals and such would warrant a new game, but aside from that, nothing unique has been, or will be, added to the game since HO/PO were fixed in 2. Rather than all of this crap, I'd kind of like to see a single definitive game. Probably have the game's engine installed on a hard drive. Then they could just release massive song packs from time to time (say, once or twice a year, exactly how often they release new iterations of the series). This would put a standardized system into scoring, and it'd allow people to play all songs on a single game rather than across multiple different games. In addition, they could even sell DLC packs in stores so that people without the ability to download would still be able to get the full experience. And it'd more efficient for them as well, since they'd only need to worry about licensing and creating charts for songs, rather than designing new full games. |

Re: You've got to be ****ing kidding me.
So I guess at the rate they're going there isn't gonna be a GH4.
Sounds like they're going cheap and getting a bunch on songs from a single band for a game so they don't have to pay as much to legally get music? |

Re: You've got to be ****ing kidding me.
I fail to see why they didn't just make a "Metallica vs Aerosmith" videogame. To make two, separate games just seems like a massive waste of time, money, and effort.
