When I mean generic, I mean songs that don't would have the same pattern throughout the song. Like Blaze and AAA (the songs he stepped) are all stream, and get boring. So step songs that have a lot of variation in style or melody that you can step without having the same pattern repeating.

Song choice is everything.

If you're looking to submit a chart for FFR, the original post of the Queue/Batch Discussion Thread has links to some useful pages, such as Goldenwind's guide to submitting charts, and a few guides on making good stepcharts (Patashu, ducky285, and omgdidinsane.com). Read those.

My brief points:
* Pick a song you like. Make a chart that you'd like to play again and again.
* Play a lot of stepcharts in general, and notice what you like and what you don't like. See what patterns other people are using.
* Your first charts will be lame, and that's okay. If you like your chart, keep it. If you don't like your chart, revise it, or build a new one from scratch. Don't get discouraged if it takes a long time to make a chart.
* Once you make a few charts, consider sharing them with other players. Listen to their feedback, but remember that it's your chart and you can do anything you want.

Good luck!

Probably the best post I've seen regarding info about stepping ever.

Thank you for the advice! I thought though I put quite a bit of jump stream in AAA

Any song suggestions? I need a mediaplayer file for it though )
