Re: TWG LXXXVII: Cloverfield
I guess the purpose of no roles n1 is to get rid of n1 boredom.
I guess it isn't helping much. |

I'm waiting to see how many people don't even end up noticing the game started without their PMs.

Re: TWG LXXXVII: Cloverfield
Ok I have an idea. There are some flaws to it, but it's better than sitting on our hands.
We should compile a list of everyone's target wolvings for night 1. A partial list should stay in a couple people's hands and we should have a master list for back up. I realize there's potential for lying about everyone's wolf target. I would recommend no-one does though. If you lie and then you're person dies, you're in the same boat as the suspects. Only one person gets screwed (maybe two if the wolfee has been targeted by multiple people) this way, and there's "Greater Good" potential. 12/16 people benifit 3/16 people get hurt One person gets screwed. I realize it might not happen in the most ideal of circumstances, but it's better than doing nothing.

Re: TWG LXXXVII: Cloverfield
Story time!
It's just another perfect night in New York City. Everyone's gathering for a moving to Tokyo party and someone even brought a camcorder to mark the occasion. The music's bumpin', the drinks are aflowin', and everyone's feeling awesome. Lito's playing up to the camera, and Manti's dancing on a table with Vic. All of a sudden, a large tremor shakes through the entire city, knocking people off of their feet. Panic striken, 16 friends make their way out to the street, not knowing the horror that they will soon encounter. |

Re: TWG LXXXVII: Cloverfield
Wow thanks for wasting my time with a bunch of stupid posts. Manticore actually had an idea but that's it.
@manti: your idea is complex and impossible to compile in one day. There's no way you're going to get all the info you need, there's no way you can use any of it because it's totally subjective, and there's no real way to decide who gets partial lists and who gets a master list and all of that. But hey if you want try to get it all by tomorrow night, be my guest. Anyways I say we take this opportunity to kill off someone we know is going to be inactive. Everyone is neutral for now but no matter if you are a human or not, inactive teammates screw you over. Course the hard part will be trying to figure out who is going to be inactive this game since perhaps no one really stands out. (I do not know who most of these people are) Ideally it would be good to have everyone choose the same person but I think if you chose someone who you think is not going to post and be active then you would be helping yourself whether or not you became a human or wolf. Something to keep in mind: If you pick a big player as your wolf target and you end up being a wolf and that player ends up being a wolf, you could potentially kill off your best teammate. Chances are small yes but I still think it's something to consider. Ill tell you straight up though, I'm sending in a wolf kill for temote. Everyone else seems like they will/would talk but I have no idea about him. He would be the most useless to me whether I was a wolf or a human. Win-win for me. As for your guard and seer picks, those can be up to your own discretion. Everyone has a different strategy when it comes to those roles so I think your best shot is who you think is your best shot. @clar: perhaps you already said this, but are the items given out tonight or do they come out later? |

clarinet is only gathering info on player tendencies and habits for future use in other games. Don't fall for it.

If you really can't abstain from telling who you're sending as a wolf choice, LIE ABOUT IT. After all, if your action comes through, YOU WILL BE A WOLF and hence should be willing to protect your position through deceit. Why would you want to tell the truth about wolfy activity? But again, I am going to be VERY mad if I turn out to be a wolf and my partner gets implicated because they couldn't keep their big mouth shut.

@afro: you know I have noticed that people's play style is less than par in many basic strategy scenarios. However, do you really think I'm going to go down that easily? So if temote dies, yes I'll be a suspect. Perhaps I should be seered before lynched since, you would be killing off a super active player early on and if you are wrong, then you would be doing the wolves a pretty big favor imo. If he does NOT die does that let me off the hook? Not really. So either way it's nothing conclusive. But like I said before, temote should be a favorable target whether you end up being a wolf or human. Because we are trying to plan something BEFORE we get our roles..... On another thought if you are having any troubles making a pick for seer or guardian, come talk to me and I'll give you some hints and tips I've learned. (I've run quite a few alliances in my time so while I have rarely ever been a seer myself, I have made seer picks for seers many times.) I do not expect anyone to come to me but if you really need help, I'll give you some advice. (Everyone is neutral right now so it's not like I'm going to sway you either way..... yet ) |
