Default Spyware problem. Please help.

So today I woke up and my sister was complaining about our computer. It turns out I had spyware. I thought I deleted it, but then about 20 minutes later my sister saw our desktop wallpaper had changed. It says I have several fatal errors due to spyware activity and also has a link to a fake spyware removal site (SpyAway). I cannot open task manager or change my wallpaper anymore, and I have no idea what to do. I heard doing a system restore or system recovery should help, but I have no idea how to do it. Sombody please help me.

Can you access the internet? Since you posted this, I assuming you can. Go download Spybot. Update it through the in program updater, then run it. Let me know if that dosn't work.

I already downloaded spybot about an hour ago. It just started removing some items and then froze so I had to start over. I also got windows defender and that's been scanning for almost 2 hours now.

Ok. Just wait then and see what they manage to turn up. Chances are they will remove it, if not, I know several other ways you can try.

Spybot keeps popping this up. Should I accept or deny?

Yeah do that. Then after it restarts, I'd recomend scanning again just to be safe.

Should I wait for windows defender to finish or should I just stop that scan?

Shouldn't really matter now, it's up to you. If it looks like its close to finnishing, just let it. If not then go ahead and abort then restart.

I don't know how close it is to finishing, I just know it's been scanning for over 2 hours now. I guess I'll restart though.

I restarted my computer, rescanned, and it looks like there's still some things that didn't get fixed. I still have the wierd background, anyone know how to fix that?

Edit: I'm still getting pop ups in my taskbar sending me to SpyAway.

Edit2: I know I have to go to run and type regedit, but from there I'm lost.

I think it would be really beneficial to us if you would post exactly what it is that cannot be fixed. That way, finding something to get rid of it with will be a lot easier.

I would also try downloading Ad-Aware. It does really well cleaning out the browser cache and cookies and such. Go with the free one by the way, it works just fine.

I've been working on this all day and I think my only problem left is my desktop wallpaper. Here's what it looks like.

Ad-Aware + HijackThis usually does it for me. You can find the programs by googling, and make sure to look at a tutorial for HijackThis before messing with anything.

Also, run in safe mode when doing your scanning and what not. You do that by tapping the F8 key after you restart.
