So painfully obvious it was an April fools joke guys, c'mon.

Still a Zelda movie would be horrible anyway. Best leave it the way it is.

That's like saying a movie follows their predecessor (i guess a book) exactly.

In this case a fair amount would need to follow the game pretty well, but not exactly. Sure, there are a few things you can leave out, but there really isn't a whole lot you can leave out while retaining the same story.

Of course it'd be MixMasterLar who'd think the movie was for real.

Did you see what the hell they did with the Bourne Movies? The books where amazing but the movies took any meaning and killed it.

So a really bad Zelda movie isnt that far-fetched to me.

Oh and screw a real Zelda one, Im still waiting on meh Soul Calibur movie after 4 years

why would a zelda movie be bad? it would be AWSOME IMO. think about it. sword fights, adventure, never before seen mosters (to the people who havent played zelda). huge dungeons loaded with traps. boses like seen in the movie which looked awsome. then the final ganon face off.

the game already pretty much IS a movie lol

and think about it do you really want to watch a guy wander for 2 hours trying to figure out wtf hes supposed to do inside some giant tree

i mean really really think about it

the concept would be ok but following the game isnt going to happen

They were going to make a metroid video. I laugh at that.

I think that's the main flaw when they create these movies based upon video games. They tend to follow it as much as they can without presenting any new material. Chances are you played the game, so why would you want watch a movie on the same story filled with the same events? Sure the visuals may be nice, but overall it doesn't mix into anything worth watching more than twice thus generating a badly produced movie.

If they made the concept of a video game into a movie, they need to go into different directions rather than duplicating the game itself. Take Link, Zelda, and the other known characters into a new story that hasn't been seen before. Make a movie out of it and quite possibly it has a good chance of seeing some positive feedback.

Heck, they can even make a new Zelda game upon the new movie, but that's a whole different story. Eh just my opinions.

Agreeing with Fox, a new story is a must.

I think that's what they where going to do with the Soul Calibur one: Two monks (not in the game) go in search of the Hero's Sword.

Wow haha sorry I just thought of the (horrible) Street Fighter movie and it basically meets what I just stated. Oh well, I'm not a movie person anyway. Hm well I once read somebody got rights for a Gears of War movie, not sure how that is now.

Still, some things should never see the light of day.

So far, all of the game movies I have seen have been horirble. Final Fantasy Spirits Within wasn't very good, Advent Children was borderline horrible, and Doom... I didn't even watch Doom the whole way through.

I think for me maybe the thing that a game movie misses is the "game" part of it. The reason I like games is because of the gameplay, when it becomes a movie, the pieces of gameplay that fill in between the story sequences are missing, and it's not the same. Maybe some games do have good storylines, but it's also because nobody is required to act them, just maybe the voice actors. Whenever it hits the screen, for me, it seems to fail.

I can't imagine what the movie's ending would be. Link fighting GD and him having to reflect things back at at him with a glowing sword 6 times. Then GD gets angry, gets on a horse runs around, rinse, repeat.

Also, I'd love to see Link sprout bombs IRL.

Still, yeah. No movie. That would be best, haha.

Did none of you see any of the April 1st dates?

I'm pretty sure this is fake.

EDIT: It does look like a good deal of money was spent. Wouldn't make sense to just be a one time joke....

Alot of people have said Link looks like Michael Jackson, which is true. The point is though that he looks ugly, gay and uncomfortable. If you notice, when he's looking up at the sky with his new armour on, he looks like a clown just recently been picked out of a dust bin. Zelda looks stupid too, they could of picked a far better looking actress to play her, and plus she looks too old, you have yourself some addition to the crap cast. Gannon, can't really explain how he looks like crap compared to how he's meant to look, maybe it's because he looks like a lion human fused with something from the Planet of the Apes.

Other than the cast, the music is pretty obvious to the games, you can tell exactly what the soundtracks are. The soundtrack which is most blended into the trailer is the field sountrack from the legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

And if the film was an 100% doubtful success, I would have to say that I'd like it to be based on Twilight Princess or Majora's Mask. By the looks of things it looks like it'll be going more towards Ocorina of Time, but only a little.

Anyway, my vote is that it's fake. But I don't think they got much laughs anyway. For one, they told everyone it was a joke too early. And two, they would of got alot of frowns anyway for telling it a bit late. And the funny thing is, they coudn't of won anyway because if they told everyone inbetween, they still would of gotten frowned at!

Another thing, it's not too late for a Zelda movie, but it is too late for a Zelda movie looking like that!
