I get a submission every other day, and for the most part, they are bad. I've gotten like, 4 good ones.

Snapps, the sim I meant to send to F5 is ready, but you may as well wait until I've got this other one done. It's pretty near being complete.

ugh this annoys me.

trying to make a pack of songs better then another pack is just being stupid.

how about instead of doing this, you try to make your own simfiles that would be worthwhile to play. No one cares about packs. I am not downloading a single other pack.

FYI emccky, it's not like this pack was made in an attempt to be better than F5. It's been used as a standard (well, not really a standard, more like a bar to clear by quite a few inches) because of the disappointment expressed by the majority of the people that downloaded it.

If you don't want to download packs, that's fine. That doesn't mean we're just going to scrap the project. Personally, I think packs are just an efficient way of getting some good simfiles without having to sift through pages and pages of simfiles not worthy to take up space in a landfill. Others have other motives for downloading packs; whatever it may be, packs are downloaded, so they're still going to be made. There's not much you can do to stop that. All you can do is try to make them as good as possible.

I agree there are so many packs going on it's crazy. Browse SMO forums and you will see there is like 123087 packs going on.

This was meant to be my last one too. So, you know, I wanted it to be made perfect and for the people who were dissapointed with F5.

It wont be perfect, nothing is perfect.
Shoot for a good, or great pack! it's actually feasible. You aren't going to please everybody, and I can give you a 150% guarantee on that.

Oh, and if you're going to only accept sims on such a strict level (like zag, saying there is a half a good sim), this pack will be in production for a long.... long long long long time.

I don't think I'm being strict with the judging.
I fail to comprehend how not letting utter shit in the pack is being too strict.
If a file is good, it'll get in. If it has a couple of flaws that can be fixed, I'll tell the author that, and if he fixes them, the file will get in.

Seems simple enough. Putting bad files in the pack just to "fill out" (or for any reason, actually) doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

EDIT: Besides, the "only ½ good file"-remark is only my opinion, I wasn't speaking for all of the judges. Also, I'm not the only one doing the judging, so even if I think a file is shit, the other judges might not agree (though I highly doubt they'd let a shit file in, heh, but I'm sure you understand what I'm saying).
