That part about regulars who are a bit wierd but would do a good sounds like me. Maybe I could be a chat mod. Just a suggestion.

I've not been going as much as I used to because of the chaos but if I had the ability to help "stop the madness" so to speak, I would definately be heading to the chat more often like I used to.

That's the only downside I see of an ignore option.
You're not likely to ignore someone you need to talk to, nor they you. For the most part, you're going to ignore spammers, not anyone who has anything to say. Besides, a reload would solve that problem.

And about more mods: It was a suggestion, not an open invitation to nominate yourself.

I think we should just get the IRC channel back up. It was so much fun, and IRC is simply a great chat. Besides, regulars to the normal chat come to FFR for that only, and never (ok, almost never) to the forums. They wouldn't know about the IRC chat, and would be out of our way.

And even if they find out, it's sooo much easier to boot people from IRC.

Well, that works up until the point where I get chat drama shoved in my face here on the forums.

They could block you on AIM just as easily and that hasn't caused anybody any problems. I mean, if it's that important you could just publicly say "somebody tell *name* that I need to talk to them, it's urgent" and maybe they will repeat it so the person can decide whether or not to stop ignoring you.

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O
