Iv had all the good burger joint chains like In'n'out and Five Guys and Steak n Shake.

But the best still remains - SMASH BURGER.

I've personally had far better Burger King experiences compared to McDonalds or some other chains.

As for A&W, I dunno how the food compares to here Kommi, but it's absolutely crummy. The onion rings are extremely salty, the batter is more like a hard shell encasing the onions, and they're often oversized. And don't even bother with the poutine, such as this "beautiful" one I had:

The whole thing popped right off the container as you can see. It also has the consistency of rubber.

This is over a year old but I thought this would be a good place to copy/paste what I think about certain places i've been to. Maybe I should convert these to an /10 scale .. it's interesting to see what I agree and disagree with Kommisar about though; he's more in depth.

Quote:
Aki Da Japanese Seafood House - Woodbine / east of Queen
-Nice atmosphere, good service, for 7.95 their okonomiyaki dish (Japanese style pancake, served with eel, cabbage and other goodness) comes with salad and miso. Respectable sized menu, in the form of a bamboo book. Great place, their sushi is also larger in size compared to other places.

Asian Bowl - Yonge / Dundas
-Viet cuisine, nice trendy and clean atmosphere. Mango salad is great, service is mediocre.

Burger King - South of Yonge / Dundas
-Whoppers. But that's about it.

Boston Pizza - Various
-Nice pizza place to go to when you're out and about and need a half hour to rest. Not too expensive, regular pepperoni pizza is good.

British Style Fish & Chips - Coxwell / Dundas
-Doesn't look like much, until you actually try their food. Their best dish has to be the Haddock and fries. Cheaper than the halibut, with just as good the taste. Famous throughout the community. Once you try, you keep going..

Casey's - Kennedy Commons
-Oh man, their Burger^2 is awesome but only eat if you're really hungry. 1 pound of awesome.
-Memphis BBQ contains mango sauce which drips with cool. Reasonably priced for what it is.

China Buffet King - Warden / Metropolitan
-Service was mediocre, and so was the food. All you can eat self serve.

Cobs Bread - Kenilworth / Queen East
-A little east of Woodbine you will find the famous gem that is Cobs Bread. You can tell by the line ups inside the store that it is good, and the smell of the room does not disappoint. It's more of a grocery store than a restaurant but it's worth mentioning.
CopaCabana Brazilian Steakhouse - Fallsview Blvd / Portage Road, Niagra Falls
-Love meat? Good. Don't want to get up? Great. Because at CopaCabana Brazilian Steakhouse, you have an all you can eat meat fest where the waiters come to you with steak on a stake, along with 17 other juicy meats, and you decide whether you want it or not. If you do, they cut it right infront of you, and you peel it off with prongs. If that doesn't make you hungry, nothing will. If you're willing to pay alittle bit, this is the place to go to for meat at Niagra Falls.
Dave & Busters - 120 Interchange Way, Vaughan
-Pick something you like, it's at Dave & Busters. Pool, games, food, drinks, it's there. They have a neat play & eat combo which gives you a good meal; an amazing burger at that, with a game card worth a value you choose.

Destiny Tea - Midland / Steeles, on Silverstar
-Good place for bubble tea, or just about any drink you can think of. Looks like they just renovated, very nice looking place. They only accept cash, that's a major downfall of it.

Domino's Pizza - Various
-If you're going to order from them, get cheesy bread and hot peppers on the pizza toppings.

Embassy Suites 5 star Hotel Restaurant - Monterey, California
-For a 5 star restaurant, food is mediocre; gave me food poisoning one night. Great service though.

Hard Rock Cafe - Yonge / Dundas
-Smack in the middle of downtown, loud, rock atmosphere. Littered with decoratives, if you are a ryerson student, you can ask for the Ryerson menu which is a slightly discounted price. It's pretty expensive for what it is, and the food is average. You will get decent service, but the big downfall is they don't take debit.

Jack Astors - Various
-Try their cheesy garlic bread. it's 6.73, but it will be the best 6.73 you watill ever spend on food. I could write an essay on this stuff. Other than that, pretty standard bar and grill. Love the Tvs for sports. Jack Astors at Scarborough Town Center comes with pool tables.

Jody's Montreal Deli Sandwiches - Kingston / Lark, south of Dundas
-I walked in a minute before close, but they still let me in. I immediately ordered their Montreal Deli Large sandwich, and oh my god did it pay dividends. They bring out this bucket filled with meat, and just start dumping the meat on your sandwich until it looks like a cube, and then give it to you, and then some complimentary toppings of your choice. 9 ounces of pure, meaty goodness! Definitely lives up to its name where it says "Best deli sandwiches at the beaches".

Kelseys - Warden / Eglinton
-If you ask me, service wasn't that great. Food was alright though; they cook a nice steak.

KFC - Various
-Pretty overpriced, but I like the chicken. Double down is overrated, overpriced, and not filling.

Licks - Kenilworth / Queen East
-One word. Homeburgers. You watch them make it, and by the time they're done, you need to shower because you've just drooled all over yourself.

Mamma's Pizza - Various
-In my opinion, the place to go for thin crust pizza. If you are a Ryerson student, and show your OneCard, you can get a free 351mL pop with your purchase at the Yonge / Dundas location. You watch them make your food.

Mariko - Hampton / Danforth
-Japanese cuisine, conveniently outside chester station. All you can eat sushi for very reasonable price, just make sure you eat it all, you get billed for what you don't eat.

mcdonalds - Various
-Does not quality for useful rating, as I refuse to consider this food.

Milestones - North York Civic Center
-Food is decent, but too costly for what it actually is.

Mykonos - Yonge / north of Church
-Greek food; it's ok, bread is good, seating is decent for small groups.

Pickle Barrel - Yonge / Eglinton Mall
-If you ever wanted to read a book as a menu, this is where you want to go. They have just about every conceivable food, and it is a indecisive person's worst nightmare. Once you get past the menu, the food is pretty decent for a reasonable price. Do not go to the Yonge / Dundas location unless you are willing to wait hours for your food.

Pastabilities - Yonge / King
-Slightly east of King, how many pasta joints do you know of have an order which splashes vodka and smoked salmon in your pasta? This little haven for George Brown students is something to boast about, and for a reasonable price makes a nice lunch. The ability to choose your pasta through 8 different pastas is great as well.
Pizza Hut - Various
-Makes a decent pizza, make sure to order with wings.

Pizza Pizza - Various
-Terrible service, pizza isn't too great either. Medium whole pizza for 4.99 is a decent deal.

Quizznos - Yonge / Adelaide
-Reputed to be the best in customer service Quizznos in Toronto, I believe it. Their Black Angus Steak Sub is amazing as well. Plenty of seats for alone, or wtih friends. Also good for takeout.

Remezzo's - Warden / Sheppard
-Probably my favourite italian bistro. Best pasta in my opinion would be "Angel Tears". They also make a mean pizza.

Sotto Sotto - just north of Avenue / Bloor
-Yorkville; Italian centered restaurant; enter only if you have money to spend. But if you do, you will be rewarded; very rich atmosphere, don't even think about entering if you aren't formally dressed. Recommended dish has to be lemon veal scallapine. There is also a lovely fruit salad that comes before, and a chocolate mousse dessert served to you on what looks to be a gravy boat. Expect to pay $75 for this type of meal.

Star Walk Buffet - Midland / Steeles, on Silverstar
-Service and food isn't that great. Not much to say about this one.

Subway - Various
-Pizza Sub is probably the best.
Sugar Marmalade - Spadina / Dundas
-A new "destiny", full of Bubble Teas, Juices, Shakes, Toast, and Dessert dumplings. A place worth going to for when in need of a refreshing drink.

Swiss Chalet - Yonge / Dundas
-Your typical swiss chalet; good for chicken, but that's about it.

Tucker's Marketplace - Warden / Eglinton
-Cooking steak dry is a sacriledge. Probably won't return to this one because of this serious offense.
Twin's Grill - Woodbine / Queen
-Just opened up as of 5/5/11, sells everything from hamburgers and hot dogs to poutines and salads. Family owned restaurant by the looks of it, bound to be busy in the summer.

Wendy's - Various
-Really nothing memorable about this place.

Wexford Restaurant - Warden/Lawrence
-THE place to go for breakfast. Vintage style, If you like eggs, get their over-easy bacon and eggs, with RYE bread. A little secret they have is they give you an extra slice of bread if you choose rye over white, for no cost.

It looks like the cheese hardened from being cold. There's almost no gravy on that also D:

Never heard of Steak n Shake. Is that an East Coast thing?

Also, surprised no one in the states has reviewed Jack in the Box yet.

@Bluearrow: I know it's old, but Boston Pizza is far from cheap. However, it's one of the best pizza places to go to. Their pizza variety is quite good and the quality is excellent IMO.

I got a giant slab of moldy lettuce in my burger king burger a couple months ago. so

-8000/10 for me.

The bad part is I didn't exactly notice this immediately.

Also this. They do soak everything they serve you in grease though, it gets ridiculous.

Edit: I like Qdoba more than Chipotle because the Chipotle by my school doesn't do free student drinks anymore, and Qdoba still does.

On a similar note, I heard rumors that McDonalds Chicken McNuggets used leftover pieces of white meat that people didn't finish, but apparently it's just reconstituted white meat.

@lambourghini thing: take that to the PMs, not here.

OK, I'll take it to the PM's. Thanks Brenton.

Now on the topic of this thread, Wendy's uses the hamburger meat in their chilis. If that's good or bad, you can be the judge.

Eh, didn't know this. Haven't had the chili in a while though, but still I'm not sure how to think about this. The hamburgers aren't really that bad, but using the same meat in the chili... :/

It actually is true. I used to work there and any of the meat that went "bad" during the night shift (usually whatever was leftover at the end of the night) got saved overnight and put in the chili the next morning. I worked the morning shift, so I was the one doing this :S

When you start presenting yourself as a novice fastfood critic, you really have to wonder just how well you manage your free time.

Sonic is the only decent place considered "fast food" to me.

McDonald's cleanliness standard is in fact very good. Though it doesn't mean that some employees will get caught breaking regulations, speaking from work experience.

What about Wendy's and Texas Chicken?
