Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Alright, I said that the video I watched appeared to be an event mode where the computer played R.O.B.
That clearly determines my skill level. ~Tsugomaru

I love the numerous smashfags in here trying to prove everyone else sucks.
To answer Tsug's question: ROB is confirmed playable. He's known as ROBOT in Japan |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I'm pretty sure you're referring to me.. <_< I'm not a smashfag (or anything like that). I just hate it when people post stupid **** that makes no sense. I never said anyone sucked.

Insinuations.
Your previous posts indicate that you still play Melee, competitively or not. Your recent posts indicate that you look down on those who do not. If you didn't intend for that to happen, then you need to adjust the way you type. |

You will probably get an option to start out as her just like Zelda/Shiek.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I don't know much about Smash Bros. In all honesty, I would have forgotten the franchise existed if it weren't for my friends who all play Melee religiously. They're all really excited about the game, and even I am excited about it (even though I'm a n00b) because hopefully, the wi-fi interface will be decent enough so that I can get annihilated by strangers rather than my friends...that and playing as Jigglypuff. Jigglypuff is cute.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Actually, Jigglypuff and Marth are my main two. Jigglypuff when I'm feeling extremely gutsy(I usually average 3 suicides in a 10 stock match) and Marth when I just want to win, because I'm better with Marth honestly.
I'm definitely eager for this though. I have the game nearly paid for, and I'm just gonna pick it up on launch day and have a massive party. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I guess Squeek was right on the money.
It was Squeek who posted saying that the Dojo would basically become what the Dojo just announced it was becoming, right? I don't think it was someone else who said it. Well it's late, I stayed up for the update, and now I must sleep.

"From here on out, the Dojo will begin to introduce the hidden characters, hidden stages, and additional features in Brawl that have gone unmentioned until now."
So... Am I missing something or have they not mentioned several characters yet? |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
The Brawl site never announced the hidden characters. Those were leaks from people who had advance copies of the game in Japan.
According to the main site, Capt. Falcon, Ness, Jigglypuff, etc. don't exist in the game. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Because of this announcement, I won't be going back to the site until after I get and get close to beating Brawl. Also, I won't be coming back to this thread cause you guys really like giving things away that aren't even on the website yet. Be happy, I know you all are.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Haha, yeah, characters was the last thing I thought I'd see here. I was up all night during the "leak-a-thon" looking at everything, though.
Anyway, who ever is wanting to play me later, send me a PM to know to add you to my Brawl list. It's sad for no more speculation, and even sadder we have to wait a freaking month. It'll all be worth the wait, though. All Ready Mentioned Here Spoilers Below This Point I love the roster, though not what I had hoped/expected. There isn't a single character I don't like. Mainly just interested. T. Link looks soo fun to play, though. He's like a Fox Link. I'm sort of sad to see they are technically clones, though. I guess there's not really too much you can do differently with them. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Oh I get it now.
The point is to pwn n00bs!!111 m i rite lol My whole beef with the "playing to win regardless of what it takes" stance is when you choose to utilize this technique. When you're playing a random match against people you don't even know, what the hell is the point of utilizing glitches and **** to win? Why not just play? You can save the glitch-fest for fighting against friends or competing in tournaments or whatever it is you all do. It's the same with Snaking. You can do it. I can do it. I don't do it. Why don't I do it? Because if I Snake against my friends, I'm going to win. You know how boring it is to win 100/100 matches in a row? It's so boring that the game never gets played ever again. What good is a game if you can't play it with friends? Sure you could argue that they should learn how to snake, but really, why? Why continue to learn new glitches and ignore the core gameplay elements? The game is just as fun if you refuse to acknowledge that glitches exist to be exploited. This article doesn't address the difference between people who play games and people who play games competitively. It seems to just assume that everybody plays games to pwn n00bs!!11 Last edited by Squeek; 01-31-2008 at 02:24 PM.. |

This man knows what he is talking about. This is what a real gamer's philosophy is. It's a good thing people just love to openly admit they suck and have to cheat to win when these games are made for pure entertainment purposes and not competition. Competition is a side dish, playing the game and enjoying it with your buddies it the main course, stop crying about other people not wanting to stoop to your level and using glitches.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
It's like racing. Say you are racing against your friend around a track, you decide to play fairly and run around the entire way, but your friend decides to cut corners big time and wins all the time because he has to travel 5x less distance than you. Where's the fun in that?

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
To clarify, you're talking about a running race, and "cutting corners" means taking a 90 degree turn before the U-turn in the track and running straight across the football field in the middle at about the endzone line.
Right? I did that in P.E. because I hated my teacher =) She actually kept tallies of how many laps everyone took and graded us on it. The entire class was a lesson in how to cheat at P.E. Some people just waited until a mob of people came by with their cards after a lap, stuck their card in, moved a little, and stuck their card in again. Some people bought the brand of markers she used and marked them during indoor stair laps since those are covered by the bleachers when going up. |
