Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 4
I stepped it way back in July for the New Song Artists Batch. According to my computer, I last edited it at Wednesday, July 13, 2011, 10:14:41 AM.

The minijack patterns are just so uncalled for compared to the rest of the file. Really bothers me. Also, as for SAMBISTA, just because the omissions were purposeful doesn't mean they aren't jarring and make the file un-fun to play lol Played the D6 file. A little fast for me in the alternating jumpstream parts but overall really fun. I'm a fan of the (23) 3 (23) 3 (23) 8th jack parts, seemed to fit really well. Could use a color fix (the purple/pink arrows are weird) and it's a shame the framers wound up so odd. I actually laughed when I saw an 8th jack with a shorter frame gap than a 16th jack, GG FFR Also huge respect to Dossar for syncing it, sounds real drifty in parts.

That also doesn't mean your opinion is right, and therefore, you don't have to be so abrasive about it. =/

Plus I really like the song, had a lot of potential and I just know bmah could have done a better job with it, given his past successes.

(23)3(23)3(23)3 part gave me trouble because I had to intentionally hit them offsync to avoid getting goods

Halcyon however might be one of the most wonderful files I've ever played. So much fun and the song is amazing.

bmah's thoughts while stepping halcyon:
"there's a lot of clipping during this sound... yep, using a quad sounds good" :P

I couldn't find an un-clipped version of that song, even on xi's muzie page. So yeah, it'll just have to sound like some sort of radio edit.

lol I have no doubt that pattern is a bitch to PA well, I just thought it fit the music very appropriately and was a nice choice in that regard.

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 4
Only played D4-D6 tonight:
D4: Really tricky. Not too bad overall but I wish the bursts were toned down a little haha. D5: Feels like Flesvelka and honki's baby. Not bad steps, but I wish fluent patterns were used more to enjoy the overall file. D6: Very fun! It's really hard to play since I have no stamina and this laptop likes to drain the energy out of you. Good job Dossar. |

Hey I know, lets step everything extremely straightforward and boring and add it to the 1500 songs we already have that are just like it.......
Anyways, everyone is entitled to their opinion of course but I think it's pretty unfair to talk like that to people. There are plenty of stepartists I don't enjoy but I don't tell them to go die or stop stepping. (yes someone else said go die earlier) |

Re: FFR 6th Official Tourney Songs Discussion: Round 4
Jesus **** bmah just demonstrated why he is my favourite simfile artist with those 3 files.
**** you all D4's file is fun. As for Dossar, your stepping licence is officially revoked and your song choice is pathetic. |

Honestly I have no problem with Halcyon being in the game, it's absolutely not my style in the climax part and I hate the two jump transitions, but I will freely admit they are technically correct and the file is unique because of it. SAMBISTA can die in a fire though. The more I play it the more it makes me sad Haven't played the D3 song yet. Mostly I'm disappointed because I know bmah can do better- takes a little spine to take that the way I intended, not to be discouraging. Rather, might as well take it as a compliment that people expect such high quality, shows lows of people believe bmah's got a good history of files. You've got to be good in the first place for people to be disappointed when you fall short ~

everyone that's complaining about bmah files
you should go try making your own files lol, there's a reason bmah continuously gets his files in-game
