Re: WANTED: Hackers
If they are looking for people that know stuff that the normal really good programmer doesn't know about then that is a ridiculous request.

Wow. The government is retarded. How do they know the hackers wont do more than help the security issues?

Re: WANTED: Hackers
It's not like the computer programmers that are employed by the government are completely retarded. What are they going to do? Steal information from the government while they are sitting in their office? Then they take them to jail.

Re: WANTED: Hackers
im pretty sure that they have programs on their PCs that alert them when something gets copied to a private drive or altered, so izzy is right, theyd be stupid for even trying to do it. by the time you copied something important and pulled out the drive, theyd be right behind you with handcuffs and a one way ticket for a labotomy

Re: WANTED: Hackers
XD. You don't get it, do you?
<---------- I mean, they ARE hackers. They DO INDEED hack others. So, who says one might hack onto someone else computer. Not the government's laptops. I mean the economy's computers. |

Hard to listen to a guy who spells his name as UnKown. Even harder to listen when your message isn't clear.

Anyway, I don't think having hackers in the government is a good idea. Putting hackers into the government is like giving homeless people millions of dollars. They are going to waste it. And then they will be caught. I'm sorry, but I don't want to worry that my StepMania songs, my ecchi folders, and my cat macros will be gone when I wake up the next morning. Re: WANTED: Hackers
This sounds a lot like Network Security, which is exactly what I am studying. I am already practicing doing this in classroom labs. The only real challenging part is thinking what will come next. I already frequent sites that show the latest vulnerabilities for systems. Analyzing the traffic and figuring out what is going on is easy. Hell, I do that I my home network for fun and to piss off one of my roommates.
If I had my degree / or was finished with my certifications, I might apply for something like this. I will probably forward this on to one of my friends who is a year ahead of me and is having trouble finding work because he is overqualified for entry level positions doing this, but doesn't have enough experience for the senior level jobs yet. I hope that this job is still available in say a year, year and a half so that I can apply. |
