[Dubstep/Drumstep] Balloon Party Teaser #1
copypasta yadda yadda:
This is still a work in progress and is in no way the final version! I started making this yesterday for the upcoming balloon party compilation, but then today I heard circuitfry's announcement about it. I'm not sure if this'll be good enough for the compilation, since it's pretty much my first real try at making drumstep/dubstep. Please let me know what you think is good/what you think I can improve on! Thanks for listening! http://soundcloud.com/assertivefluttershy/assertive-fluttershy-balloon |

Re: [Dubstep/Drumstep] Balloon Party Teaser #1
I like the chord progression, along with the fact that although you had a bass drop you stayed true and parallel to the melody in the verses, which doesn't happen much in dubstep anymore haha, it's different from mainstream brostep as it sounds like you're listening to 1 song and not 2 between the verse and drop
Nice job!

I actually like this and think it has potential, keep with it. Only thing that really bugs me about it is something that a lot of new dubstep producers tend to do whether on purpose or accident, that the bass seems the slightest bit lagging behind the song due to the length of the note or w/e. If that didn't make any sense it's cause I'm tired and I can try explaining more soon lol

I know exactly what you mean, and it was done on purpose for the kind of wubwub effect. I could try to cut down on the delay, but it gets to a certain point where it doesn't sound right anymore. There has to be a certain delay for the modulation effects to kick in. I'll keep that in mind though

Everything was super awesome except I don't like the pitched upness of the voice.

I strongly dislike most dubstep (and all variations thereof), but I really like this. I guess sometimes it's just done right. :> |
