Fix FFR engine please and inform us of a timetable
The standard FFR player doesn't work which seems to leave us with only 2 other options: the legacy player and the "newer" player. I didn't even know the new player existed until now after reading a few posts.
The legacy player is awful because the combo is right in front of the notes and it's a huge distraction. I can't play using this. The newer player has some nice features, but the steps don't match the song beats at ALL. There must be something wrong with the player because I have to introduce a significant offset for it to work, and even then there are some other problems. Can someone please write a post on the front page explaining what the problem is and when we should expect the problem to be resolved? |

legacy player sucks, it's really boggling that people still use it
as for the newer player, I also use an astronomical offset, so I feel you there. I use an offset of 14 or 15, depending on the song's native offset. try that out, once the offset's right r^3 works like a charm |

Re: Fix FFR engine please and inform us of a timetable
So I think I've figured out that the biggest issue I have with changing to v3 is that it uses a larger screen and the arrows are actually larger. This changes my timing and the spacing that I'm used to and I'm not really interested in adapting to this new system.
I guess it would be nice if they could introduce these as options. |

The "timing and spacing" can be altered under Global Offset, Judge Offset and Receptor spacing. The larger window can be overcome with the Screencut option and if you're uncomfortable with the default noteskin, there's options to change that too. I was kind of reluctant to make the swap to R^3 too, it took me at least a year after it's release before I actually gave it a chance. You just need to tinker with your options till you find something that works for you~ |

In regard to the topic, we are trying.
It's actually out of our hands.

Along these lines, is there a thread that explains how the new player works? Because I don't know what the global offset, judge offset, and receptor spacing variables actually control. Plus I didn't realize that there was a Screencut option also. Thanks for the information! The issue I have is that although I listen to the music as a memory device, my brain has to interpret the arrows. Since the arrows are bigger in v3, it seems to change the distance between arrows corresponding to a particular beat. I think ... Quote:
Huh? I didn't know this. How is this possible? |

Re: Fix FFR engine please and inform us of a timetable
Okay, I managed to fix the engines myself.
I'm working on a workaround for multiplayer and chat. If things are still broken, clear your cache manually (from the last hour should do) as Shift F5 and ctrl-shift-r don't seem to work.

Screen Shot 2014-03-03 at 2.53.31 PM.jpg Near the bottom there is an option called "masking". Click on the word combo and voila, you'll only be able to see accuracy. You can also tweak screencut settings and offsets in R^3. PM me if you need more info. EDIT: Sounds like the engines have been fixed. Good job guys - in that case you can go back to playing on Velo.

The legacy player has timing that works, and velocity mostly works too. I tried a song in R3, and then the same song in the velocity and legacy player and did leagues better. If you can get the timing of R3 to at least be as good as velocity, I think people would actually want to use it. Last edited by goldenbladex; 05-5-2014 at 08:35 PM.. |
