Just promise to stop when they are beat...don't keep going...stop when the beating stops becoming self defense

Good idea. If anyone wants to press charges, they'll want to have video evidence and proof that it was premeditated.

Premeditated assault and battery is most likely a crime. You might get a different punishment, but just being under eighteen or whatever doesn't give you a free pass to beat up anyone you see.
