Ahahahaha. It's so hilarious that I didn't think about this.

Quote:
I'm always shocked at how blatantly obnoxious some of those guys can be. When I asked them about Playstation 3s, the manager on duty told me that every store in the chain is getting about four or five each, which means they aren't getting any. I asked him to explain and he said, while literally rubbing his hands together, "They're letting employees buy PS3s, so there won't be any left." I asked if they have to stand in line and he said no, the second we open we'll just buy them up. He did say that they can only buy one each, but I'm guessing most stories have at least five employees smart enough to know how to use Ebay.

He said that the stores are supposed to be getting about 50 Wii each. In general he seemed to be dismissing the PS3 and telling me that the Wii was the way to go.
The low shipment amount per store means that the employees get first dibs, and if this is true, then each employee will snag one (if they can even get one to each employee). Therefore, no customers will get one.

This is SAD, Sony. And the only way to stop it is to ship more units, which you can't do because you can't even manufacture the parts for your console in time.

eBay pulled the auctions as they broke their rules.

They will eventually go up on eBay, but not yet.

Wont people buy a preorder for a PS3 then sell it on Ebay for triple of what it they bought it for? Then they could buy another PS3 later on and still have a lot of money left over.

According to eBay at the moment I checked, auctions for the PS3 are going from 1,300 to 1,900 dollars.

People are so impatient.

Indeed they are, if only people had patience and spend their money a little more wisely. Oh well, we all have reasons for the things we do.

Seems like not even the Japanese can get a break.

http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/30/ja...part-problems/

Only 80 thousand units will be ready to go in Japan out of the expected 100 thousand due to a lack of components needed to make the system.

EDIT: Forgot to add the following:
SONY CAN'T MANAGE OLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Oh haha guess what

Games are already set to take up several gigs of storage space on that internal hard drive. One was set to be 4gb, Ridge Racer is set to be 5. You have a 20gb hard drive, you get four games on there. You can't even get any downloadable content. You have to erase the game from your hard drive to get another game on there, or to download stuff. So really, you can only fit three games on there if you want space for more stuff.

It's not like it's much better with a 60gb. 11 games. Wow. I have about four times that many games for my Gamecube. I bet most people have multiples of that number for PS2 as well.

What are they thinking.

Wait. You have to install your PS3 games? So, I guess they couldn't figure out how to keep Blu-Ray from overheating, huh?

Haha Sony nice going there. It's probably because it's impossible to read the discs at a good pace without overheating and/or major load times.

Also don't forget that Blu-ray holds, what, up to 30 gigs per CD? LOLO NICE JOB SONY WAY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF BLU-RAY.

Even if you only need t install like 10 gigs of a full blown 30 gig game, that's still a lot of stuff on your harddrive and it would take some serious fix-up and code tweaking to make a 20 gig game load smoothly on Blu-ray.

You don't necessarily have to install the games. Just if you want the load times to be in a more acceptable range.

This is Sony's solution to the problem.

"solution". Has Sony ever done anything like this before? I have some sort of feeling they have... can't remember what it is at the moment, though.

I was talking to my friend about how crappy the PS3 is going to be until she reminded me of how SONY ALWAYS REMAKES THEIR STUFF AFTER BEING RELEASED. So I guess a crappy PS3 will lead to a better PS3 when they release PS4 rofl.

PSTwos have broken too, you know. The slim ones.

And now I remember. The PSP Square circuit being out of alignment with the button. Shortcuts. That's how Sony "solves" problems.

GG mentioning that in the first post.

Blu Rays load slower than DVDs, but as developers get more experienced with the console, load times will shrink anyway. Compare first gen PS2 load times with games nowdays.

That's because Sony is retarded.

Their first billboard looked like ///7

Which, to me, could be 11/7

Which would be tomorrow.

Whereas Nintendo has 11.19.2006 right on the front page.

Just another thing Sony managed to do wrong.

Edit: There's a video of NBA07's load times and such. It took thirty seconds to get to the menu screen once they said "loading". It took about a minute from the time he started the game. It also had to be installed.
