Depends on if you have kickass music.

Anyway, I put up some Frank Sinatra, Jack's Mannequin, and Something Corporate. Maybe I'll put up some Anita Baker or Anita O'Day or Billie Holiday or Dinah Washington. Then after I get them up, it's all out jazz time, baby 8)

Mental, pass your link to friends and stuff, or play it while you work or something.

Does anyone know if you get listens for listening to your user name when you're logged out? You could see if when you log out and play your playlist, if you get more listens that way.

You only get new listeners when someone adds you as a friend. This thread is meant to get everyone started on listeners, everyone should add everyone else as a friend, but you can only get lots of listeners if your playlist radio appeals to the general public and they add you.

They just added a really useful new feature:

If you find you uploaded the odd song with a messed up song title or author information, don't fret, now you can right click (or hit escape) and fix it without having to repair the ID3 tag on your computer and re-upload the song.

I'll ask for permissions soon enough. You just wait.

Edit: Who the hell listened to the podcasts it uploaded?

P.S.: The german music I've uploaded so far is just 70's leftist (Ton Steine Scherben) or covers of said band.

I just came to an awesome realization. When you click the link to someone's music, they are automatically added to your friend list (if you are logged in). I'll edit the front page so that in the 2nd post, everyone's name is a link to their playlist radio. It shouldn't be too much to ask everyone to click everyone's link once when they join.

I'm think of completely removing the subjective component (Comp) from the calculation, even though it only contributes 0-100 points.

I have my iTunes libary perfectly organised with song name, artist, album and genre so why arent they the same when I upload to anywhere.fm?

I thought editing a song iTunes changed the ID3 tags.....

600 Song Mark just passed. Also just added all of you all to my "friends list". Everyone should do the same. My goal is to break 1,000 today. I am also adding the playlists starting with a-z style for easy access of alphabetical searching. As well as any of the artists I enjoy, I will add a playlist of them. That is all. Until I reach 1000!

For some reason, songs I add aren't showing up on the list. The first 17 are there, but those showed up well over an hour ago. I've uploaded 20+ since then, and nothing has appeared.

It's taking an extremely long time to show the newest songs lately, for whatever reason.

I reloaded the page and they were all there, so all is well in the universe.

By the end of the day I'll have a decent amount of music in convenient playlists.

Maybe

mead, A good way to monitor songs as they're being uploaded is to upload them while watching your "Recently Added" playlist. I find when I do this, songs appear right away. If a long period of time goes without songs appearing, I usually find logging out and logging back in makes them show up, if it's been a reasonable amount of time.

windsurfer, the best way to check is to browse your music with windows explorer and view it's properties (advanced properties). Whatever is in there is the ID3v1 tag.

Note that mp3s nowadays can have an ID3v1 tag (at the end of the file) and an ID3v2 tag (at the beginning of the file, with support for pictures etc.)

iTunes only writes ID3v2 tags to the files, but anywhere.FM reads from the ID3v1 tag.

you can read more about that issue here:
http://akil.textdriven.com/posts/itu...ag-management/

Basically, what you need to do is download that software I talked about in my "Tips" post:

If a) You usually name your songs properly on your computer, but the ID3 tags are messed up or non-existent for the most part, or
b) You usually name your ID3 tags perfectly in iTunes or Windows Media Player, but browsing for songs on your computer is impossibly frustrating because they have ridiculous file names.
You can use this tool go through a pile of mp3s and either rename the file based on the ID3 tag or write the ID3 tag based on the information in the file name.
This tool has the ability to take information in the ID3v2 tag and write it to the ID3v1 tag.

Happy Days!

Edit: I've added a new section to the "Tips" Post for this:
Quote:
Does your music appear with wrong Tag information in Anywhere.FM, or your car's MP3 player, even though you've written all the correct tag information using iTunes or Windows Media Player? The reason is that there are two ID3 tags in mp3 files, v1 and v2. v1 is simpler, limited, and used by most basic programs and software. iTunes and WMP both write to ID3v2 tags, and fail to synchronize the ID3v1 tags with matching information. You use the above tool to write your ID3v2 tag information to your ID3v1 tags on your mp3 files, so that this confusion no longer occurs.

Yeah I know. Every time I upload songs it doesn't show up for like the next 15 minutes.

Also everyone seems to like the DDR mixes I uploaded. The 2nd mix already has 36 plays from being up for like two days.
