My 4 submissions
Hello all,
I have 4 songs that I think would be great for FFR, however, they are all longer than 3 minutes. I tried to cut down on the length, but now I am unable to convert it to an MP3. I currently have 2 of the 4 songs cut to a reasonable length, but they are saved as a .WAV - If I post them here, would someone be able to convert it? Thanks very much in advance! Also, is there a maximum length for them? SONGS LISTED AT POST #9 NEW SONGS LISTED AT POST #21 Last edited by Reptile5000; 02-11-2008 at 07:32 AM.. |

Re: My 4 submissions
I wouldn't be able to convert them, but there is no maximum length.
If you have a song that's 20 minutes and really boring, then I really doubt it would make it into the game. The only way a song that long would get into the game would mean it has to be super epic and the steps have to be super epic, and 20 minutes might still be too long. examples: bad long songs (imo) : pants, 3/4 of the songs in rock good long songs : bb evolution, bb revenge (all I can think of) |

Re: My 4 submissions
The songs definetly aren't boring. They aren't mostly between 3 and 4 minutes, but there's never a boring part in them. Would it be alright if I post the 2 .WAVs here for you to preview and comment on? If anyone that stops by this thread has an audio converter, it'd be really appreciated if they convert the 2 WAVs to MP3s.

Re: My 4 submissions
I'll post the full-length versions now, the shorter ones (WAV) are on my other computer, I'll be able to post them later tonight or tomorrow (if the full-length ones are too long)
In The End My remix of Linkin Park's "In The End" (I have a shortened version, but this one is definetly much better) Shiny Disco Breakz An old one of mine (Hey DJ) Bring That Back One of my older ones. (I'd be able to shorten this) Break The Speakers This is also one of my older ones. (I have a shortened version if necessary) I have some others that I might post soon. Keep an eye out for them Comments/Compliments are welcomed. PS: Are there any incentives for creating the music for FFR? (Just curious) Last edited by Reptile5000; 12-28-2007 at 12:21 PM.. Re: My 4 submissions
Thanks very much.
Does anyone want to step "In The End" - I've been asking around, and a lot of people here say that they're fans of Linkin Park and like the remix. Thanks in advance!

BonkEnc is amazing for conversion between formats. I recommend it... or, as was mentioned, anything off of download.com will work for you in the shortterm as shareware/freeware.

Re: My 4 submissions
Oooh, a remix of "Blast the Speakers". I love the song-- one of my favorites by Warp Brothers, especially one of the breakbeat remixes I heard-- but I think it runs a little repetitive; not much done there. Still nice, though.

Re: My 4 submissions
The In the End remix sounds like the original with some sound effects and a breakbeat thrown in, with a bit of chopping here and there. It's good, but not enough to catch my attention. I wanted more guitar emphasis during the chorus, but that's just me.
I like the chord progression on Shiny Disco Breaks. The use of vocal sound clips really help the song. You know how to use transfer sound effects really well. My only complaint is at times the break just seems too unmastered/loud. With Bring That Back, you again show off your skills to use vocal sound effects well. The effect used you on the bassline is absolutely sexy in every sense of the word. It runs mildly repetitive, but that's typically how a breakbeat song is formulated, so I didn't mind at all. Great stuff. As a fan of the original "Blast the Speakers" I was happy to have a listen to "Break the Speakers." Hate to say it, but I was mildly disappointed. The track seems to just slap a breakbeat onto the intro and not much else, it doesn't really add it's own personal twist to it. I'll admit, the vocal effects were a step in the right direction, but not enough of a step. I also didn't hear the bassline utilized at all, and that's easily the best part of that song. Nevertheless, good stuff. |

Re: My 4 submissions
I could probably use AVS audio editor for these songs. I could also cut down the time if you need. XD
I could also step linkin park if it's O.K. with you and have permission from the people to put on FFR. I could message them to your file sometime later, though. My goddang computer keeps crashing anf it gets fixed over and over like a cycle. Last edited by RVL; 01-5-2008 at 10:46 PM.. |

Sorry for the late reply - I've been very busy lately.
Celira - Thank you very much for the compliment Starshot - Thanks for the compliments and constructive criticism. Very helpful - thanks for the input. RVL - Go ahead and step In The End, I'd love to see how it comes out. Keep me posted on the progress.

Re: My 4 submissions
Super, Super, SUPER sorry for the triple post and mega-bumb. I just wanted to let you all know that I changed a lot of the songs (listed above, posts 9 and 21) and made them a bit better. All of them were edited and made a bit better.
PS: Has anyone stepped any of these? There were a couple that said they might. PPS: I started a new thread for a different remix that I made. Linkyness
