Is there even any benefit to winning the event anyways? I dont like choosing favourites between pixelated cuties especially when there's a chance that one might go to a movie with me one day if I play my cards right

Oh hey, since this event is legal to talk about. I agree with the aforementioned strategy of voting for one person only.

Like no votes for anyone else but one girl.

The other girls might get RNG'd to be selected for top three, but I think all of us voting for the same one is the optimal strat number-wise. It's more likely a town gets access to an item and it is for a wolf to get access to an item.

I will say I have a silly idea involving what we should do. I think we should split ourselves evenly for this round.

8 of us picks one girl, another 8 picks another, and the last 8 picks the last.

It wouldn't effect the outcome at the end of course, but I think controlling the RNG would be funny, lol.

Yes, the answer you seek is listed in the OP, mostly. It depends on how expectant you are in seeking. I would definitely say you may acquire an item which may make you more attractive to pixelated cuties who enjoy fantasy movies and cool accessories.
