Huge flooding at Toronto
Yeah, it's pretty big.. I'd post plenty of pictures but I'm on my phone with low battery. I don't have any power right now, but for people like Bluearrow, Plopadop, and anyone else living in Toronto, how are things on your end?
I'm nowhere near the huge flood but listening to the radio is horrifying enough. There are a few pictures where Train Stations are flooded with people trying to swim over from one end of the hall to the other. Somehow my area got affected by the rain and all my neighbors are asking us questions about it. I'm quite scared it will go on for days until we get this mess sorted out.

Re: Huge flooding at Toronto
That moment when you realize you have to abandon your car, but in doing so you will cause massive water damage to your vehicle.
Shit sucks. |

Re: Huge flooding at Toronto
I sure picked an excellent day to go to work without an umbrella / sweater / coat. Checked the weather, "chance of rain in the evening" was what it read so I figured there was no need as it only takes 90 minutes to commute. Little did I know there'd be a wall of rain greeting me after work, it would take 5 hours to commute home, and I'd have to walk significant chunks between Sheppard - Lawrence since the Shuttle bus from Finch short turns at Sheppard and Bloor - College because my walking was outpacing the shuttle busses. Today was a good reminder that there's not much one can do in the city without electricity. It's certainly much more difficult to get from A to B. Though I am thankful for the original bus delay from York U to Finch - if it had gone on time, the power outage would have happened while I was in the subway tunnels rather than while I was still in finch station. Took some photos of a dark subway station and the walk home - cars were jam packed all the way to 10pm still.
Photos: Finch Station during power outage. ~Darkness~ Somewhere between York Mills and Sheppard on the way home. No subway, scarce shuttle busses during rush hour means people have to walk home on Yonge during the heavy (at times) rain. Me being one of them! Tl;dr It took me 5 hours to get from Steeles to College for those familiar with Toronto streets. regular commute time is 90 minutes.
