Default How did you start playing DDR/ITG?

One day four or five months ago, I overheard my friends talking about FFR. I already had an FFR account, so I got back into FFR, but then at computer class, my friend kept going on ITGFreak.com. He told me I should start playing ITG. I went to an arcade to try DDR, but I could only do 1's. Next week, I went to Virtual Rush (local ITG machine) and I saw my friends there and I was able to do 3's.

I realized that if you play DDR/ITG with friends, you do a lot better because they sort help you be more confident to play and that helps.

When I started DDR I started playing 8 footers and 9 footers, cause I just basically knew how to read stuff, then a year later I started ITG and I got like 11 Tri Stars and have 81% on pandemonium Expert Double....

WTF

-----------------------------

I started playing FFR when my cousin told me about it so I decided to play DDR. I only had a gamecube so I played DDR mario mix and the hardest song in that is like crossovers at 120BPM. I then went to six flags and tried real DDR and since we were at six flags for a week I was able to do songs like 'A' heavy and Daikani Heavy...of course now the hardest songs I can do are Max 300, bag (1x), and Sakura.

I started playing DDR in May 2004. I first played it at my friend's birthday party. Since I knew a lot about music being in high school band and other things, I picked the game up really quickly and got to playing heavy in a few months.

Friend's 18th birthday party, there was mario ddr for the gamecube, I had never played the game before and I was the second best at it there in a tourney we had, right next to the guy who actually owned the game.

I was born with DDR 2nd Remix when I was little. I still suck at it though.

My sister got the home version of Extreme 2 because my parents thought it would be a good way for her to lose weight. She hated it and gave it to me.

A friend showed me Stepmania, after about a few months of doing keyboard songs, we went to the South Shore Mall and played loads of DDR on the machines, and I sucked, naturally (I could read the arrows well, but actually finding the buttons with my feet was usually what killed me). Basically played light because my friend forced me to, said beginner was TOO easy (and he was right. Beginner was just boring when I did try it). Even tried my luck at Paranoia on an old DDR machine back when Dave&Busters used to be Julians. It was the second time I had ever played, so I failed obviously, but I did beat Boom Boom Dollar and Butterfly (this was on a machine from way back when, where songs only had one setting and the highest foot level was 8.)

My brother, and sister played it every Sunday at the local arcade. One day I just decided to go with them, but not to play DDR. I watched them a lot, but it took me going about five times to actually try it myself. I was actually pretty good the first time I played, and I'm sure that's because I watched so much before playing. Hmmm... I remember playing Burning Heat for our last song, lol.

That was a life changing event

I loved to dance and play video games so I found this game that I had never seen before. I had to have it. I got it and fell in love with it. Ended up getting all of my friends hooked too. =D

Well, my brothers friend showed me the game. I am glad I found this game when I did or I never would have probly. I didnt start out on the pad thou. At the time i just plain sucked at dancing period. :P So I started playing on the ps2 game controller. After awhile at my bros friends house, i started to try beginner on the pad and so on. I pretty much sucked. :P Over the years i continued to learn the new steps that came out on the game controller until around Max 2 Came out I think it was. I finally got Max 2 and tryed the game on the pad. I got better and better from there. But of course I still suck. But i am improving. :P I finally beat Rhythm and Police on heavy. Its that darn second chaos part that always got me... But I finally beat it awhile ago back. I also beat Sakura a few times on heavy. Thats the only 300 Tempo song I can beat. I think I got a B on it. Not bad for a non active, 222 pound nerd. ROFL! :P But yea, I think im pretty good for the condition i am in. :P

but the funny part is i can beat my bro's friend now. But he hasnt played in awhile so its understandable.
