unda_doggz, if you're going to ask for an opinion from people on your artwork, you're going to have to learn how to take the good with the bad. Most people are trying to say that it's okay, etc., trying to be supportive... but most of them probably think that it's a ****ty drawing nonetheless.
That's because it IS a ****ty drawing. I could draw better than that when I was in the 4th grade. Practice doesn't make you perfect, but it makes you better, so if it's something you're passionate about then no one's holding you back from doing so. If you're posting here looking for great compliments on your artwork, then you'd better be mother****ing Van Gogh.

Re: My failed anime drawing
doggz, its not bad for a first attempt. The biggest problem I see is proportionality issues. Basically there's no neck, shoulders just jut out of nowhere, the body seems blocky, and the arms/hands are a bit on the small side. As I said before, its not bad for a first attempt, hell, I know my first shot at this stuff was much worse. If you're looking to get better, I'd say flip through some manga or google some images and use them as a referance. You don't necessarily have to copy the pic, but pick and choose pieces that would fit into the idea you have. For example, I absolutely can not draw hands for my life. Thats why I usually try to look through manga I know would have a hand in the position I'm looking for, or just use google. Once I find a good referance shot, I use it as a guide, changing subtle details as needed. Keep up the good work, I'd like to see how you improve.
Seth, it looks good from what I can tell, image is a bit on the dark side so yea, I agree with you when you say you need a scanner. Its better than what I can do, thats for sure.

Re: My failed anime drawing
Tugz is banned again, dunno for how long. So I guess for now it's a good idea to turn this thread into an art+advice thread?
Seth, love the action in your pic. I'm at the point where I'm trying to improve on body language and poses in my art, and it's tough stuff.

And yea Im usually battling with getting a picture to seem dynamic or whatever. I find it quite hard to get the picture to look how I want it to, especially if there is a certain pose or action happening like. It's hard to stop a drawing just looking wooden I find.

Re: My failed anime drawing
Because, believe it or not, some people enjoy anime and are comfortable with that style of drawing.
Anyway, making the most of this thread...... Here is one of my better pieces (not amazing, but writing is more my forte so I really don't expect it to be). http://mldb88.googlepages.com/Yuurei...urei2-full.jpg any constructive criticism is appreciated (and don't worry, I can take blunt criticism as long as its helpful, so you guys don't have to sugar coat everything.)

Re: My failed anime drawing
Hm, constructive criticism...
The proportions/positioning is a little off, especially in the face. The hair could use some more liveliness... try to use quick, smooth strokes with your pencil if you can. :3 Also, her breasts are kinda squarish-looking... but I have problems drawing those too. XD Let's see, I'll share something of mine. Here's an uncolored one since you guys have been posting pencil too.
