Walking
I'm a runner, but I certainly don't enjoy doing it every day. However, having a dog forces me to get out quite a bit, and when I get the chance, I walk wherever I can go! Even little steps are worth more than no steps at all, so if you think you can't run a marathon, it's very much possible you can walk from your house to the corner store instead of taking the car!
Strava is a great App to have on your phone, and it even includes a social networking feature to boot, so you can show off to all your other Strava friends. http://www.strava.com/ Hardcore fitness and just being healthy are very much mixed up nowadays, since either you're a lazy fatass chowing down bacon and Pepsi, or you're eating Kale and going to the gym for 8 days a week. HOWEVER! There is a healthy medium! You won't end up looking like an A&F model, but you won't end up in a NBC fatso Blasto TV show either. For pedometer reference: 500 steps = .25m 1000 = .5m 2000= 1 mile. Post your walks! |

Re: Walking
I typically only walk in the winter (I don't drive). In the summer I longboard pretty much everywhere. Maybe I'll use the pedometer build into my phone and start posting stats. Might be cool to see where I stand.

Re: Walking
Took a break from walking for a while causeee blister. Finally got back to walking yesterday though. Did about .72 mile walk in the morning and 3.78 mile walk in the afternoon. It was kinda nice but rainy. Today I was just at home watching FIFA games ofc but went to the gym and walked about 3.2 miles on the treadmill.
I was walking on just the treadmill before but like I think I enjoy going outside for walks more. Just need it to stop raining every day, ugh. |

Re: Walking
I've been feeling lethargic in the mornings lately and this applies doubly when I'm looking at computer screens, despite my 300-500mg morning caffeine intake. Light cardio and walks outside has been helpful for this.

Re: Walking
I did 15000 steps one day when I was visiting Vancouver with my BF, and the day before I did 14000 steps.

Re: Walking
Strava is pretty cool, but I've been sticking to Nike because I've already logged nearly 300 miles in the past few months.
