RE: I cant belive it!
Son of a bitch. This blows. If my torrent sites go down, all they have to do now is take away my IRC cracking channels and I'm back to buying software.

RE: I cant belive it!
Hmm... I have not heard anything about the government's action behind this. I thought it was just a simple website problem, just like every time the site temporarily goes down.
I can't find any decent torrent sites. BTW the trick (type *.torrent on your search engine in Windows / MAC, pressing F3) doesn't work. Simply because the torrents themselves are gone. So good riddance to any unfinished torrent from suprnova.org. For a while I thought this would work, but no.

RE: I cant belive it!
Wait... Well, you might have left your computer on and did not close the download window, maybe? Too bad for me, I did turn off my computer. Or the burning smell of my Athlon 64 (4000+) due to overclocking would have me wasted hundreds of dollars.

RE: Re: RE: I cant belive it!
piracy of software/tv/movies etc is not a violation of free speech Zild, and once more you prove your idiocy by thinking as such. its a copyright protection violation... aka, against the law. so, yea... the government is going to pay money to stop it which forces people to buy it themselves, thereby spending money, sparking the economy and at the same time, providing tax money back to said government.
1st ammendment rights. HA. aww... that gave me a damn good laugh. but, to the important matters.... losing bittorrent is a big loss. i use it all the time for movies and tv shows. as i don't watch anime, i could care less about that. also, never DLed any games or software... and, luckily for me, i know other torrent sites that specialize in tv shows, movies, and porn. for whoever said that suprnova had little porn... that is incorrect. THEY HAD NO PORN. didn't allow it on their site. there are other sites for it though. google is your friend.

You moron, I wasn't implying that piracy of software is free speech.

RE: Re: RE: I cant belive it!
... On like my 5th or 4th post to this topic, I addressed the issues with RIAA and p2p programs.
It's just that I didn't think BitTorrent would be the next target. NOTE: They don't have to shut down p2p programs like that. If anyone remembered weeks ago, Sierra has a fake, free downloadable version of Half-Life 2. This is done to catch downloaders like suprnova ones. I, too, feel guilty, but I at least bought Half-Life2 off the shelf. There were about 20,000+ people banned off Steam because they downloaded HL2 with the same cd-keys. I was well aware of this before downloading any HL2 installations (and therefore did not get it off the net, not even from Steam). Sierra is a good example of how piracy should be stopped, but not the p2p program itself.

afaik, suprnova's shutting down is unrelated to government pressure.

Suprnova...will be missed. Best torrent site, ever. Good thing I finished downloading everything I wanted yesterday.
::edit:: Weird, on my other computer, suprnova still works... |
