Re: Can you find God?
Oh shit I want to post something funny, but it's a CT. Damn.
Anyway, I could start a religious debate, but I will just say that you don't have to wait for god. As long as you have the idea that god is with you, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Besides, who is your sister to say who is a true Christian and who isn't. Seriously? I thought that was against the "rules" or something. Like one of the sins or something. Dunno. Hope that makes you feel any better. Last edited by Emithith; 07-11-2011 at 09:15 PM.. Reason: damnit. I type too fast sometimes. |

Re: Can you find God?
I'm a devout Christian, so I'm gonna tell you what's what.
Your sister is being dumb. You found God, you accepted him into your heart deciding he is your savior, so you're Christian and going to heaven.

Re: Can you find God?
A religious thread on FFR made it past the first page without turning into a huge trollfight? o.O
If you believe you found God, that's up to you.. not your sister. On the other hand, if you're doubting that you found God because of what your sister said, maybe she is right.

Re: Can you find God?
And also if you read Revelation 14:1. It talks about a selected number going to heaven being 144,000. And that they will rule as kings and priests. And the bible talks about other sheep which would be you and me that will inherit the earth. It's like the everywhere on the earth. Every last person you meet says your going to heaven. I've had many people say that. Including people who are not living their lives according to God. So not everyone will go to heaven. Psalms 37:9-11 talks about the meek ones inheriting the earth and the wicked ones will be cut off. So keep that into consideration.

Re: Can you find God?
I don't think we can really ever get a definitive answer for this question.

I love religion/faiths that are based upon fear.

Re: Can you find God?
It made it to the second page without becoming a trollfight because the thread wasn't really -about- anything religious, but instead asked "My sister said something I think is wrong, is it wrong?" To which the answer is "Yes it's wrong, but it doesn't belong in Critical Thinking.
