Default FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE for PC

I learned recently that this game was released for PC on Epic Games and was pretty excited to try it out since I've let my friend borrow my PS4 for quite some time now. I saw a review ahead of time explaining that the pc port has major port issues where both the cutscenes and gameplay were unplayable due to choppy framerate and stutter issues. I thought this was probably just an overreaction and went for it anyways, figuring if it was only in densely crowded areas like towns or very brief during a cutscene that would probably be fine.

Upon loading the game and watching the first cutscene it was horribly choppy and borderline unwatchable, I thought maybe adjusting the graphics settings, or applying direct X 11 as suggested would alleviate the issue. Nothing seemed to work, and I've not had trouble running any other game on my system. The gameplay suffered about the same amount of choppy issues. I had to go ahead with a refund for this one unfortunately but will definitely play it on ps4 once I have my system back. If you're interested here is the review that outlined these issues:

So 2 things, let this be a warning the PC port sucks if you've seen it and were borderline on purchasing it as i was, and wondering how you guys enjoyed the game if you've played it?

There's no hope even with -dx11 and some modding ? I guess it could be hardware dependant. I didn't personally try that one on PC, but I'm surprised you had no workaround.

It's a possibility my system could be not powerful enough, but it does meet specified minimum system requirements to run the game
My system:
CPU i5-7300HQ 2.5GHZ
GPU NVIDIA GeForceGTX 1050
VRAM 4.0 GB
RAM 16 GB
Storage 1TB HDD/120GB SSD
DirectX 12 available.

I did install it on to my HDD, not my SSD as there was not enough storage space, and it is indeed a laptop, but I kept it plugged in to power.

Minimum
Processor
Intel Core i5 3330 / AMD FX-8350

Memory
8 GB

Storage
100GB or more

Direct X
Version 12 or later

Graphics
GeForce GTX 780 / Radeon RX 480 (3GB VRAM)

Recommended
Processor
Intel Core i7-3770 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100

Memory
12 GB

Storage
100GB or more

Direct X
Version 12 or later
Graphics
GeForce GTX 1080 / Radeon RX 5700 (8GB VRAM)

Based on the hardware the reviewer used and still experienced stutter on a machine much more powerful than my own, it does lead me to assume my system specs did not help any
