Default Multiple Keys?

I've been playing FFR here and there using a friends account every now and then, and made my own account yesterday. I know there's a few settings for speed mods, and custom keyboard input, however is there a way (hack, software hooks, anything) which will let me have two forms of input?

Example: In SM, ITG, MDG, etc, they will let you have upto 8 keys per player (1 and 2) as an input, and with this layout i've gotton particularly good at indexing, however, when i play it here, my fingers always trip over one another. Is there a way to have 3 or 4 keys per finger on opposit sides of the board?

My left hand wants to use WAS and D, and my right hand wants to use OKL and ;.

Any ways to make that happen, or in a new feature (R2 doesn't let you do like any of the other sims do)

So you want to use Double Setup? The only way for you to do so is to just have two keyboards plugged in. But you can't have 8 different keys, the maximum is 4.

autohotkey

but you're trying to get double setup going. isn't this still "illegal"?

It is, and it isn't. The only song I would see useful for DS is vrofl, DP just for the ending, and CP for the trill/jacks. But then again, people don't really care anymore. I don't care either, it's technically a "style" in my opinion.

DS is only illegal because they don't want you super mashing FCs on all the 13s.

I'm sure using an ahk script for the purposes mentioned in the OP would be perfectly fine/legal. It's just another play style if you ask me.

DS is only illegal if you use it to full combo by mashing something you couldn't otherwise (e.g. crowdpleaser megatrill)

otherwise it's no big deal. most of the time you want double setup for a double-index or double-thumb setup like the one you're proposing anyway

use a program like AutoHotKeys

Not sure where you guys are getting the "Actually it's okay" thing here.

Having more than one input mapping to the same output is against the rules full stop.

Only saying that because I'm sure there are a lot of DS scores, but no one has been getting rid of them, even before the site shutdown.

unless it's used to fc e.g. crowdpleaser, how can you prove a given score is double setup?

if no evidence can prove it is or isn't, then what benefits are provided by banning double setup, and how will it be enforced?

Using two of the same key to combo jacks as though they were trills is uncool. Other then that I don't consider it cheating because it even makes some things more difficult.

Mashing vRofl with 8 keys is also lame.

That seems unfair. Index players that play on laptops have a disadvantage when playing (on top of playing index which is a disadvantage to songs meant to be played as spread).

One finger for four buttons is the same as separating a spread setup from ASDF to ASKL etc...

also it's extreme but couldn't you do double setup with no external programs if you attached two keyboards and used identical keys on both?

Yea, that would work pretty easily but it would be hard to play like that because the keyboards would have to be so far apart.

Exactly, it can't really be enforced, so does it really matter? The only dead give away would be if the song had a high amount of boos.

9000+ boos on vRofl with a full combo would be pretty obvious. But it would be really hard to enforce since there is no automated detection. As far as the game can tell it is the same input.

Well vrofl shouldn't even count. It's just a mash song and anyone can DS it. No skill there.
