I've been really enjoying playing as a rogue and the general atmosphere. The only reason I ever quit was because I felt like I was playing by myself. No one I knew played the game and I never joined an FC I cared about.

Apparently there are new zones that allow for flying mounts? I'm really curious how this is going to work because old zones really limit you. You can't just jump up any mountain side or jump off any cliff.

all the ishgard maps you can fly in, but you have to attune to loads of aether currents in each map that takes quite a while, and theyre in awkward places. you cant fly right off the bat, but it is fun once you can

But can you fly anywhere in those maps and land on anything including the side of a mountain? Can I fall to my death?

you can fly anywhere in the maps yes, and you wont fall to your death on a flying mount because you can control the speed and height of your flying

and you cant dismount in midair obv

That's disappointing. It's basically like being on invisible ground then.

Also you simply won't die from fall damage. No matter the height of the drop you'll always survive with 1hp. Unless you're in combat.

Attuning to the currents isn't a huge deal. I'm fine with having to do something to *earn* flying but gating some of the shards behind sidequests is bull.

Dusk Vigil was a decent new instance. Last boss seemed fun. Seemed because it's the same thing as Garuda (kinda) but it felt new & fresh.

54 & a half BLM. Trying to burn through some of these allowances with GSM leves. Totally forgot these were a thing & couldn't let them waste at 100 cap anymore xD

Level 38 now. Slow but steadily leveling. It's always pretty obvious what you can be doing at any given point to gain experience. I really like that about this game.

Right when you log on it even gives you suggestions on what to do.

On the bright side you can speedrun sastasha in like 5 minutes for sick lvl17 gear
