Can one of the staff members comment on my "let premium members play SIU songs in FFR" idea? Is that feasible or not?
And Tosh: yeah, you'd pay more for merchandise, but Synth would bring in less revenue from each merchandise sold than he would from simple donations. Additionally, it would take a lot of work to get merchandise running.

Afro: there are only a few (4 or 5, i believe) songs that are on SIU that aren't on FFR... KK04 was one, but now it is in FFR...
I think to some extent, we're looking to have some songs be unique only to SIU.

What if premium members are also able to buy the files for FFR for SM? I'd totally pay money to buy them. xD

Would it be possible to open Level ranks for other players as a premium piece? I know I would love to see what songs I have an advantage on in MP. Also, have a multiple opponent MP room? Don't know if any of this is possible.

Re: This will help FFR as a whole
I like all the ideas stated thus far. I would buy a yearly membership for any fee under $50 a year.
Perhaps some insight on future projects, input and comments with updated screenshots on future projects. This way, people don't feel like they are missing a huge part of the site, just the stuff they normally don't have access to anyways. With the concern of leaked info, I don't see anyone paying ~$35 to leak something as minute as a screenshot of something. Also, any chance a deal could be worked out to get FFRcade annexed to the site? I realize this may defeat the purpose with the server strain, I'm jus t brainstorming. I'm sure people would enjoy a private arcade for FFR members. Then again, I really don't like that idea for a multitude of reasons, I'm just throwing it out there. All the in-game suggestions thus far I like, it will attract a lot of people. The forum ones are good as well. I like the idea of a Premium Chat, I think that would appeal to a lot of people who don't necessarily like the Video one. In my opinion, it could be made very simplistic as well. Along the new member customer support idea, I think it'd be nice for an email address to be specified for such questions, comments, and concerns to be directed towards. One that would be checked daily by any of the admins, and that would be personally answered and direct towards the persons question. I think staff response is a really cool thing to have(Not to say that the staff isn't responsive, I realize people have lives, but depending on the amount of emails received, and the lack of admins that have access to the server, perhaps it could be a private g-mail account that all the mods have access to as well). Perhaps some Premium Skins for the forum. Premium Member title I think is better than custom. I have to eat, but I'll be back later with some better ideas that are more put together. |

Re: This will help FFR as a whole
Have you ever thought of affiliating with other, smaller sites? They could pay you a price and you could put their name under an "affiliates" banner. For the webcomics toplist, they have a banner that lists webcomics at the top of their site, people pay to put theirs up and whenever the page refreshes, depending on the amount of webcomics to be advertised, there is a certain chance that theirs will pop up.
They could be related to ffr or not. I guess it would be kinda like banner advertisements, but just throwing stuff out. |

First off, I didn't expect this to be automated. I know each SOTW is added manually, and it's time consuming. How about this. It'd be a bit of work, but instead of every song getting put up, only one is selected to be put up each day. It'd be a bit more time consuming, but not nearly as much as my previous idea. Each one is displayed for 12 days (Enough time to fill up one page of the section) and after that, it's taken down, when a new one will be put in its place. Same rule applies, if it's good enough, it can turn into a public SOTW. In this way it's a double incentive for premium members. There's a greater chance of their work getting displayed (if only for a brief time), and premium members basically get a SOTD, a song of the day, every day. Plus it won't take up too much bandwidth, because it'd only be 12 more songs at any given time than what we have now. Don't make me quote myself again to get some response on this :/ |

the permission issue is still there...
but, I do get at least 1 new submission per day... just most of them aren't very good.

Re: This will help FFR as a whole
Hey Synth, is it possible to stick those google ads into the forums somewhere innocent? I'd think that would bring up the revenue just by having more ad views. I think I view ~50 forum pages to one frontpage/other places on the site with ads.
ps. Also, Iwhai, I'm not digging the idea at all. I think it's a waste of time. Sorry. I just don't think I'd ever really participate. It sounds like a HUGE hassle no matter how small you make it. I don't even think it's possible until we get third style anyways...

That'd obviously be one of the rules: all files submitted to be included there have to have been checked for approval by the song author. Only one a day? I thought you'd get more than that.. whatever, it was just an idea. |

Re: This will help FFR as a whole
Yeah, but I'd be willing to pay a LOT for an FFR Shirt. Meaning like $30 more than they originally sold for, at least.
That's just me, because I'm starting to love FFR again...for now. |

Re: This will help FFR as a whole
Here's another suggestion on what premium members could get:
You know how we can see the total score for songs that we are highest ranked on? Well, I dunno about other people, but I really can't tell how many goods I get nor my combo just by looking at the score... I know that Shash and Tass explained the breakdown of the scoring system, but it would be nice to see the actual screenshot of the breakdown of the song (like the Multiplayer Stats). Not only can we look at own own, we should be able to look at other peoples' too, and maybe look at everyone else's Level Stats.

Re: This will help FFR as a whole
I think charging higher for shirts is a good idea. Get more out of less. Whoever bought the shirt knows they did a good deed for FFR.
-lost momentum- I'll post more suggestions once again maybe tomorrow, I'm busy today. :<
