Hello FFR Community
Hello. I'm new here, and I like what I've seen so far. As you can see by my stats, I kind of suck, but I'm willing to accept help from anyone. No, I have not played SM. I am a one-hander. What difficulty of songs should I play?

Welcome to FFR. As it's quite early in the morning you probably won't get many more replies for a few hours.

i suggest playing easier songs for now since you're just starting out dance 1 is a great place to practice since the majority of the genre has songs that you'd be capable of doing without much mashing oh and

Re: Hello FFR Community
Play as far up as you can comfortably read (look in the lower right corner at the number of curly brackets, 1 easiest 12 hardest). You can use a speedmod in the options to space out the arrows; set that as high as you can comfortably read as well.

Re: Hello FFR Community
It seems that I can read to about 8 or 9. I can pass 12, but I can't read it very good. I've been using 1.0 speed for the songs so far, but I'll try the speedmods and see what I get.

Re: Hello FFR Community
Passing 12s one-handed? If you're basically just mashing at a consistent pace throughout them yeah don't do that yet.
edit: note that ffr is reaalllly forgiving (a single perfect recovers as much life as a boo or miss takes away) so you can pass things that are well above your skill level, it's getting a good score that counts

Re: Hello FFR Community
for the 12's i mash when there are a lot of notes and play normally if the difficulty falls below the challenging mark. Who named the difficulties anyway? They are noobs...
What qualifies as a "good score"? |

Re: Hello FFR Community
Welcome to FFR. Read the stickies, like this one that's extremely important one. *click*
A good score varies. For example, I qualify a good score to be a ~AAA, or PFC (Perfect Full Combo) on a FMOs (For Masters Only = 11 in difficulty), while others think that's ridiculous. A good score depends on the viewer.

noob? *cry* even though I didn't name them. Synth did, back in early 2003. They aren't THAT bad... oh well.

Re: Hello FFR Community
Lol, tass. The "Difficult" for the difficulty 7 songs are a little stretched, anyway.

Re: Hello FFR Community
You should really try and avoid mashing, and work your way up the skill ladder. Welcome to the rest of your life by the way.

Re: Hello FFR Community
I still don't know if I should try challenging... THe name seems a bit scary for a newcomer. Here is a replay of mine. I have FC'ed one challenging sightread, but that is because the song (wild sky) should be a vd anyway.

Re: Hello FFR Community
Hmmm, maybe I should post this instead.
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...legurl/replay/ All the games I play are on mp. I've only played one singleplayer game. Edit: Please just say the difficulty I should play, and not if I suck. I know I do. So please, just stick to the useful things. I might switch to two handed sometime, but one hand is comfortable to me for right now. However, I switched the spped. I don't play on 1.0 anymore, I play on 1.5. Last edited by Cristlegurl; 12-8-2008 at 01:54 AM.. |

Re: Hello FFR Community
just looking at one replay (infinity 301) you seem to be hitting a little early most of the time
edit: yeah I see you getting early goods in really slow stuff. Drop down a few difficulty levels, hammer out your timing to the point where you can AAA easy songs then feel free to move back up

Re: Hello FFR Community
Would it work if I just changed the speed up again to 1.75? I dislike the TOO easy songs...
