Index Tiers

There was a thread a while ago on tiers for index songs. We should try to make a definitive ranking of index songs. To be in a tier, you have to complete the listed number of requirements.

Rules:
*Judge 4

*Stepmania 3.9, 3.95, or 5
*Must get required score on song

I'm going to use kyu and dan ranks like IIDX does.

A ranking system should include ALL levels of players, from beginners to high end.


The Tiers

10th kyu
*Pass an ITG 1 or DDR X Scale 1

9th kyu
*Pass an ITG 3 or DDR X Scale 4

8th kyu
*Pass an ITG 5 or DDR X Scale 7

7th kyu
*Pass an ITG 6(DDR X 9)

6th kyu
*Pass an ITG 7(DDR X 10) with a score of 70%

5th kyu
*Pass an ITG 8(DDR X 11) with a score of 70%

4th kyu
*Pass an official ITG or DDR 9 with a score of 75%

3rd kyu
*Pass 3 of the following songs:
*Max 300 Heavy (DDR Max)
*The Legend of Max Heavy (DDR Extreme)
*Any ITG 10

with a score of 75% or higher.

2nd kyu
*Pass 3 ITG 11's
or DDR X scale 16's
with a score of 75% or higher.

1st kyu
*Pass 3 ITG 12's
or DDR X scale 17's
with a score of 75% or higher.

1st dan
*Pass one official ITG 13 with a score of 75%.
*Pass one official DDR X 18 with a score of 75%.
*Pass one custom ITG 13 with a score of 75%.

2nd dan
Complete 3:
*Pass Quasar[eggman's] with 80% score
*Chromatic Blitz expert with 75% score
*Uber Rave with 80% score
*Pass any Dragonforce 15
*Pass any Tachyon series 14 with an 85% score

3rd dan
Complete 2:
Pass an ITG 13 with a FC and a 95% score.
Pass any ITG 17 with a 75% score.
Pass 3 Tachyon series 16's with a score of 90%.
Pendulum 15 with 95% score
Pass all 3 17's from Tachyon Alpha (Gaussian Mist, Never say Die and Dash Hopes II) with a 75%.

4th dan
Complete 2:
FC an ITG 15 with an FC.
Pass any ITG 18 with a 75% score.
Pass 3 Tachyon series 16's with a score of 90%.
Pendulum 16 with 95% score
Pass any 3 18's from the Tachyon Series with a 75%.
Pass a stamina 19 and a footspeed 19.

5th dan
Complete 2:
Pass Whazashmup (Tachyon Delta) with a 75%.
Quad (100%) any 3 expert charts rated 12 or above.
FC 3 ITG 17's with a score of 92% or higher.
Pass all the 19's in Tachyon Delta with a 75%
Pass the 2 20's in the Oh Henry Stamina Pack

6th dan
Complete 2:
Pass a 22 from Tachyon Epsilon
Quad (100%) any 3 expert charts rated 14 or above.
Pass 3 ITG 18's with a score of 92% or higher.
Pass 3 stamina 20's with a 90% or higher.
On an ITG 21, get an 85% or higher.

7th dan
Complete 2:
Pass Shit Palette 2.0 Expert from Tachyon Epsilon
Pass Epic Manner Expert
Quad (100%) any 3 expert charts rated 16 or above.
Pass 3 ITG 18's with a score of 96% or higher.
Pass 3 footspeed 20's with a 95% or higher.
On an ITG 21, get an 90% or higher.
Get a 99% on 3 chart 18 or higher

8th dan
Complete 2:
Pass Chambers of Shaolin from The Apocalypse Sampler.
Pass 3 charts 22+ with a 93% or more.
Pass 3 25's from Aoreo's Index Jawn 1 or 2, or Braeden's Megapack.
Quad (100%) any 3 expert charts rated 17 or above.
Pass 3 ITG 20's with a score of 96% or higher.
On an ITG 21, get an 99% or higher.
Get a 90% on 3 charts 24 or higher

9th dan
Complete 2:
Pass Disregard
Pass 3 charts 24+ with a 93% or more.
Pass 3 27's from Aoreo's Index Jawn 1 or 2, or Braeden's Megapack.
Quad (100%) any 3 expert charts rated 18 or above.
Pass 3 ITG 22's with a score of 96% or higher.
On an ITG 23, get an 99% or higher.
Get an 85% on 3 charts 25 or higher from Aoreo's Index Jawn 1 or 2, or Braeden's Megapack.

10th dan
Complete 2:
Pass Simplifying Abstract BrainAbnormalities expert(Braeden's Megapack)
Pass Pwnage u noobs expert(Braeden's Megapack)
Pass 3 charts 24+ with a 96% or more.
Pass a 29 from eitherAoreo's Index Jawn 1 or 2, or Braeden's Megapack.
Quad (100%) an expert chart rated 19 or above.
Pass 3 ITG 22's with a score of 98% or higher.
On an ITG 24, get an 99% or higher.
Get an 85% on 3 charts 27 or higher from Aoreo's Index Jawn 1 or 2, or Braeden's Megapack.


Kaiden
Complete 2:
Pass Vertex Gamma expert(Braeden's Megapack)

Pass a 31 from Aoreo's Index Jawn 1 or 2,
Pass a chart 26+ with a 96% or more.
Pass a 31 from Braeden's Megapack.
Quad (100%) an expert chart rated 20 or above.
Pass 3 ITG 24's with a score of 98% or higher.
On an chart rated 26 , get an 99% or higher.
Get an 85% on 3 charts 29 or higher from Aoreo's Index Jawn 1 or 2, or Braeden's Megapack.

I do not know where I would stand in terms of tiers. These are my best scores (All of these scores were on Judge 4 timing):


This is a DDR X scale 19. This would be counted as an FC in DDR 2014/DDR A.


Another DDR X scale 19 footer and the only DDR X scale 19 I have ever PFC'd!


DDR X Scale 19 #3. I almost got the FC/AAA PFC on this one. The ending always destroys my combo every time.


DDR X Scale 19 #4, and the first DDR X scale 19 I have ever FC'd, this was before the PFC on Egoism 440 Challenge.

I have not seen any DDR X scale 19's on the list to qualify, so I am not sure if they do stand anywhere within the tier rankings.

I play index. I always have played Index style, and I always will play Index style.

A ranking system ranks players of all levels, including beginners. Passing an ITG 1 is not very difficult on Keyboard, that's why it is the lowest rank.

Despite only having 14 posts here, I have played FFR for 10 years, have 400 Posts on Zenius - I vanisher, and have released many pad and index packs.

I like it because it supports new players getting into the game. It makes them feel more inclusive since it normally takes a while for the average person to even be competent at stepmania.

No offense, but ranking people, in my opinion, sets a precedent that typically segregates the community.

It's a game for fun and your only competition is yourself. There doesn't need to be an official system. Besides, only like 10 people even play index.
