Piano songs.
Hello all,
I'm a pianist looking for a challenge.... I took lessons for a while, then just stopped for a year or so.... Ive been trying to work my way back to playing regularly... The most I've accomplished thusfar is being able to play Beethoven's Op. 13 (Pathetique) Mov't 3 I belive... rondo allegra.... Anyway, I'm looking for a certain type of song to learn to broaden my experiences... Something like the little diddy in the middle of Butterflies and Hurricanes, by Muse.... just crazy arpegios and chords like.... hopefully someone out there knows what I'm talking about... I'm just looking for a song name (other than that one), to learn... and if possible some sheet music would be great, if not, I'll find it somewhere, but please help me out... Thanks, ~Bill *EDIT* Thanks Tasselfoot |

Oh. Isn't that the song from Beethoven virus? You should have just said that.
Fantasie impromptu would be over your head :P Fantasie impromptu isn't as hard as it sounds. Mind you, I still havnt bothered learning it quite yet, as the tempo it needs to be played at requires great skill, I would say on a scale of 1 to 10 it would be a 9. You would want something around a 6-7 difficulty. So...um, I really don't know. Especially fitting the style you were talking about. I don't play alot of modern music, mostly classical. Beethovens fur elise, Mozarts Turkish March, Chopins One minute waltz would be probably be nice challenges for you around that level and are alot of fun to play. Fur elise being the easiest there and the waltz being the hardest. Thats its common name, but I recall it actually being called...Valse op. 64-1 "petite chein" I also enjoyed playing Perpetuum mobile(sonata 1, movement 4) by C.M.v.Weber alot of fun too. But that would be more of a 7-8 as its quite long and fast, but not very hard to read, and its alot of fun. Piano sonata no.15 K.545 1st mov by mozart is an excellent piece around 7. Le coucou by Daquin is also quite catchy and not overly hard to play really, but it goes at quite the pace. Those are more single notes though for the most part. If you want chord madness, Marcia alla turka by beethoven. the entire song is chords basically, but its beautiful. It might be too hard for you though, its alot harder than it sounds if you've heard it. Extremely difficult chords for its pace, probably an 8-9 difficulty really.

RE: Re: RE: Piano songs.
Except thats about 5 times as hard to play as Op. 13.
Learning something thats far too hard is pointless. What level in music conservatory grades did you complete? If you've completed all 10 levels then you could probably tackle it. That and if you know you have extremely fast fingers :P

RE: Re: RE: Piano songs.
If you are up for a semi-challenge with chords, try One-Winged Angel from FFVII. It is fun and sounds extremely hard, but it really isn't all that bad.
Good song if you ask me. Fur Elise and Petite Chin are both very good pieces and I still play them from time to time. If you want anime music, go to http://ichigos.com/ O_o

RE: Re: RE: Piano songs.
DM Ashura is a hack. That song is just a MIDI put into Fruityloops with the instruments replaced and a lame kick added. In fact, that's what all of his songs are.
Have you ever noticed that all of his songs are remixes? He couldn't make an original song to save his life. |

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Piano songs.
About the sheet music, I dunnoes.
About DM Ashura... neoMAX is a remix? somehow I thought it was original... silly me. Plus, whether he makes his own midis or creates them himself off of sheet music, I think a lot of his work is kickass anyway. So stfu, Moogy. (Oh, and grrr.)

...neoMAX is quite obviously a remix of MAX300.
All of his songs are horrible cheesy FL crap. I don't see how anyone can like them. |
