Question about FFR Rank
I just recently decided to go through and play all of the songs I could to try and get my overall rank up, but it seems like it should be higher.
I'm currently at around 22,000. The only reason I think it should be lower is that because all but a few of my scores are ranked under 16,000 and the majority are under 10,000. (I'm using FFR - Level Rank Stats for this info) I'm not sure how exactly the rank is calculated and it seems like I'm missing something, so that's why I posted on the newbie forum. Any light you can shed on the rank or why it works out this way would be appreciated. Thanks Noah EDIT: I just thought of something. Are Credits, Games Played, and Multiplayer level used in FFR Rank calculations, or is it just Your Grand Total? Last edited by XBmaster; 06-22-2007 at 04:28 PM.. Reason: New thoughts |

Re: Question about FFR Rank
grand total is just your total points.
nothing missing. those are your ranks on each song. and then averaged out.

Re: Question about FFR Rank
That's what I thought, but if you averaged all of the ranks on my individual songs it would come out to some number below 10,000. I know it wouldn't be exact because different songs are worth different points, but it seems like it would be close, rather than about 12,000 off like mine is.

Re: Question about FFR Rank
if you added the ranks of each song and divided by the number of songs there, you should get the same average rank as the site.

Re: Question about FFR Rank
You grand total is the only factor for deciding your overall rank. For example if Sue has played 500 games and sucks, while Joe has played 50 games and is amazing, Sue will have a better rank than Joe, although Joe is far better at FFR than Sue is. Does that answer your question?

Re: Question about FFR Rank
blindreper1179 - Assuming average rank is the same thing as FFR Rank, which is what I'm talking about, then you can't be right because three songs are above my FFR Rank and the other 300+ are below it, so the average would be far below my FFR Rank.
Engler - your answer makes sense, but how would I go about getting my Grand Total up if I've already played every song. (I know you're probably going to say get a better score on them, but like I said, most of mine are already in the top 10,000) I do appreciate the responses and sorry if I sound mean, I'm terrible at composing elegant posts when it's hard to convey what I'm really attempting to communicate to you all. Re: Question about FFR Rank
You can up your grand total by playing songs you've already played additional times. Even if your old best is 1,000,000, and you score 900,000, it still adds 900,000 to your grand total score.

Re: Question about FFR Rank
Thank you very very much Doug31
It all makes sense now. So FFR Rank really just decides who plays the most, rather than who's the best. I'm not sure if I agree with that approach, but at least I understand it now. Is there a way to see Grand total for just the top score on each song, because that's what I'm really interested in. Thanks again to everyone Noah |

Re: Question about FFR Rank
Yes there is. Go here: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/levelrank.php copy your level rank stats from there, paste them into excel, then have it sum up that whole column, and see what it comes up with.

Re: Question about FFR Rank
That Tier system is absurd, but I guess it does show who's the best.
Thanks for all your help EDIT (after missing Doug31's post): That would give you the total, but what I really want to see is it compared to other users, because a number by itself doesn't really mean anything to me. Last edited by XBmaster; 06-22-2007 at 06:41 PM.. |

Re: Question about FFR Rank
Well, there's a thread that shows the best average rank of users, not their highest score on each song added up, but it's really pretty similar, since better score=better rank. To see this thread, go here: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...ad.php?t=65834 Be warned that the list there is of only the very best players in terms of average rank, so don't feel bad if you don't measure up to them.

Re: Question about FFR Rank
Thanks for that link, it's pretty much what I was looking for. I noticed that the average rank is at the bottom of the level ranks page and currently I'm at 3812.4, but that should be getting lower and lower in the coming days, weeks, whenever. With this method, it seems that AAA's really boost it up, so I'm going to go back and do some easier songs to get those AAA's.
Thanks |

Re: Question about FFR Rank
The rank is based on your Grand Total for all your played song's scores combined. So being number 1 on the FFR rank page does not make you the best, it merely shows that you play a lot of FFR and/or have no life. lol
