Re: ODIPack3 submissions (it's happening!)
moar reviews. a few submitted files are not in here, i will get to them asap. and intensez i dont think i have received your file, try resending it
i cut the Contact song and sent it back to YoshL, pretty excited to see how the file turns out now! Five Regrets revision the first completly accepted file! Tzuicha-cha many of these notes are suggestions and a question of stepping style, but a few errors as well though boss in the boss pt 1 some parts are fun to play and it goes pretty well with the song, good job on adding another layer to the second part of the file it made it more fun. you have a tendency to stop following all the sounds you're following when something else you want to step comes in. don't be afraid to just layer it together, especially when it's just some 16ths that are coming in. it's not that bad of a file but overall this file is not challenging enough for this pack. it needs one or more defining parts that stand out and overall needs to be harder, i doubt you could make a file good enough for this pack to this song. boss the boss pt 2 more challenging and fun but it is very random. for example a lot of the minijacks i dont hear and i dont understand why some freezes are doubles and triples and overall this isn't really layered in any specific way. although once again nice attempt with adding more layers and mixing patterns up when the song is repeating. but this one needs a lot more work, it's pretty far from being accepted as well Calling it lacks a flow, it is very inconsistent difficulty-wise and it never really has a cool part. for most part boring and easy and then a 3measure 32nd trill, i mean cmon :P. also mix up the patterns in the beginning. dont see much hope for this one making it in the pack green hill zone it's way too easy and uneventful, and i also think a lot of the notes are pretty bs? :P anyways you have some good ideas in your simfiles, your main problems are that you dont always follow the music accurately at all :P and most importantly you choose way too easy songs to step! impronta well-made file for most follows the sounds well and your layering is perfect. but it has that two really weird streams after the color note bursts in the middle, and it just feels so random and it's the most imporantant part and climactic of the file, so i'd say that needs to be remade somehow. i don't know how though, just putting a bunch of 3-16th jacks+the bass drum instead of the first stream and then make a constant stream with the bassdrum and the vocals for the second part could possibly work, but the jacks might get way too gay outlaw it's fun because it's hard but it's obviously almost as bs as nvlm's file :P. fun though i enjoyed both oni and heavy, but it's not for this pack mosiac good file. fun, well-made, but it's so very simple and nothing special ever happens. just another pretty fun file but it's not for this pack. my friend mudkip damn pretty good file for someone who's cdtitle does not even have a transparent background transparent world yay fast simfiles. didn't look at it in the editor. pretty fun but very simple, also my edit was the same as heavy? i was so disappointed i expected monsterjumpstream on edit. the patterns in the beginning needs to be mixed up. the solo is really cool except for the first part of it felt weird. the part with the trip 16ths needs to be checked, perhaps it was alright i dunno. the ending trill should be changed somehow because the guitar plays differently towards the end of it. this one has a chance even though it's simple and is mostly 16th stream, because it's challenging and great for scoring but it needs something that stands out a bit more to be accepted. and edit should be HARD! poppin shower it's a really cool file, fun bursts, good patterns, good flow, good mine usage, good consistent difficulty level although i would like it a bit harder in general. i definitely want to accept it, but it has many minor errors and the layering isn't done the way i would call properly. look at it and resubmit it when you're completly satisfied with it! wings of demise ok a bit fun file, but this song has suuuperpotential. all the copy paste and the minifreeze 32nd trills needs to go lol. there are obvious errors when just playing it, there are also a bunch of cool piano stuff left out here and there. this file isn't even layered at all really. the solo part with the minijacks could be so much better as well. i would like the second verse and chorus cut out, it repeating 3 times in the file is gay. overall this file is very sloppily made so i won't spend 20 minuetes going it through in the editor until you've spent a LOT more time on this. i think you should cut the song, get rid of the second verse and the chorus, and then make a harder file with proper layering that just goes fucking crazy climax with the layering on the last chorus. this song has sooo much potential, expecting a lot out of this one!
