Re: World of Warcraft
Why do so many people want pandaren?
They're dumb. I hope they're never in the game. And how the hell is that revolutionary? +1 race is not revolutionary. It's standard. Revolutionary would be like adding end-game raids that you solo. Revolutionary would be underwater travel or playing the game in the parallel universe of the Emerald Dream, where none of the conflicts that have occurred in Azeroth have happened. |

Re: World of Warcraft
The first time I even took flight was amazing. Leave me in my corner!
Aside from the new styles of quests, WotLK brought very little new things to the table. They were mostly improvements on the old. ~Tsugomaru

Strand of the Ancients, Wintergrasp, numerous quests, DK starting zone, dungeons, raids, etc. All with mounted combat. I'd say that's a big change. |

Re: World of Warcraft
I hope they implement Azeroth flight in the next expansion, Flying Mounts really aren't that useful right now, and that pisses me off considering how expensive the skills are and how hard some of us work for our flying mounts.

Re: World of Warcraft
They'd have to recode whole swaths of Azeroth for you to be able to fly on your own pathing through them. That or put a very low hard ceiling everywhere which would limit the usefulness.
The problem is that there are parts of azeroth you can't get into, parts that don't go up high enough, and parts that house GM zones, that would all require additional coding. I'd settle for land mounts in Azeroth being able to move at 230% if you already have epic flying (Or just cut out the middleman and give us some basic teleportation ability at level 58) |

Re: World of Warcraft
blizz already stated that they're never going to use teleportation as a way to get anywhere (unless you're a mage and want to go to a city)

Re: World of Warcraft
OH I know, it would just be a lot more convenient and easy for them to do versus rendering all of Azeroth in 3dspace.

I'm aware of mounted combat being the thing of WotLK, that's why I said WotLK brought "little new things to the table" instead of "nothing at all".

Re: World of Warcraft
Why you will never be able to fly in Azeroth:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...82515832160523 The designers utilized line-of-sight tricks to make all the old maps. They do not work when you look down from above. Aside from the fact that zerging the faction leaders will become a joke when you can just fly in. |

or a shaman with Far Sight
Which, by the way, I have finally found a use for! It's great in Arathi Basin. Pretty much no place else though. |

Re: World of Warcraft
That's not what he means. Moonglade is still a city, albeit a druid city.
...With the other exception of Engineers (but who bothers with Engineering anymore?) who will get an item that lets them teleport around Northrend, but even then it's spotty. You randomly end up somewhere in one of five maps and can only use it once every 4 hours. What Grandia means is that we will not be able to say "Oh I want to go to Felwood and I'm in Orgrimmar I'll just teleport there." You'll never be able to just teleport to exactly where you want to go. Currently, mages can only teleport to major cities (and Stonard). That makes sense, since Mages in those cities operate the teleporters. This game will be Taxis and Mounts forever. If you need to get somewhere, take the flight point nearest to it and run, or run / fly on a mount the entire way. You have no other choice. |
