because once you get everyone's stats maxed out, the only thing that makes a character different than the other is their overdrives. And since Wakka and Tidus already have the strongest overdrives, it doesn't matter what your third character is. So I used Yuna as my third so I could summon Aeons and Aeons were just cool in general.

Actually another thing that differentiates characters that I forgot about is that their celestial weapons' power are determined by different factors. Like Auron , the lower his HP is, the stronger his celestial weapon gets. But when I faced most enemies I didn't use celestial weapons most of the time anyway.

And in the earlier time of the game I just leveled everyone up at the same time and used all 6 of the characters because you could switch then in and out during battles.
