Default Going from PC gaming to console gaming?

I've been into PC gaming for a while since it has great FPS games and RPGs, but I just can't keep up with the price of hardware. I'm thinking of just buying an Xbox 360 since it also offers FPS, RPGs, and online play. However, I may have a hard time adjusting to it. I'm just so used to getting right on my PC and playing stuff, plus I love the keyboard/mouse combo.

Like I said though, the X360 has a great library (and future library). Gears of War, BioShock, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Halo 3, etc etc. Has anyone switched from PC to 360?

BTW, on the PC right now, I'm only playing World of Warcraft and currently waiting only for Half Life 2: Episode 2 (along with TF2 and Portal).

Go for the Xbox 350 or the Nintendo Wii.

Xbox 360 has a wide variety of games and amazing graphics. You'll get used to it quickly since you play PC games.

Wii is fun because of its originality and fun gameplay, if you don't mind the graphics only as good as current-gen consoles.

Don't go for PS3. Small selection of games, very expensive, and doesn't use its power wisely.

Nintendo is relying more and more on completely revamping gaming systems with each new one of theirs. The DS introduced the touch screen/dual screen thing, and most games have that as an integral part. The same thing with the Wii; almost every game I've seen relies on the motion detector. Thus, the Wii is very "gimmicky," I would say. If you don't like playing games where you have to do something other than think and hit buttons, don't buy it.

The 360 is more conventional with an easy-to-use controller. Speaking of controllers, I don't like the Wii's at all, it's very awkward to actually hit anything other than A or B. The library is huge, especially with backward compatibility with the original (though Wii has backward compatability with the Gamecube), but there are exclusive titles Sony and Nintendo have that you can't get. Final Fantasy comes to mind. Though, Sony is losing a lot of its exclusives, so the 360 could see some previously Sony-only games in the near future.

All the more reason not to buy a PS3. Unfortunately, there are upcoming titles that make you cringe when you know you can't have them without a PS3 (Soul Calibur IV, FFXIII), but they could be ported to other systems too before the end of this generation.

Conclusion:

360 offers a large library with a conventional controller and PC-style menu navigation. Easy to get used to and to enjoy.
Wii offers innovative yet gimmicky gameplay with a lot of well-known exclusives. The motion detection is a bit abused, but the system probably offers the best "get in and go" games.
PS3 is losing a lot of its exclusives, but there are certain upcoming titles that may make you want to think about it in the future.

Recommendation: 360

If you dont have enough experiance. with console gaming then going from a PC to a console might be a little hard to get used to and im speaking from experiance.I dont have a next gen console but I have a playstation 2 and a PC and I would rather play games on the PC.The next gen console that I recommend is the 360 only because of the better graphics that it offers you.
