I quit Starcraft a long time ago. Since then, I've found Warcraft, which in my opinion, has a better story and as such, a better game. I think I'll stick with Warcraft till II comes out.

Actually, obviously Starcraft is better than Warcraft considering it's played on a Professional level and it's known for being "the ultimate RTS" game.

Anyway, SC2 should be coming out, at the latest, in a year. But that's 99% wishful thinking. There isn't a set date at all.

All I know is, I can't wait for the new units, storyline, hell, I can't wait for any aspect of it. 3D is going to be awesome as well.

Go to IGN.com if you haven't seen pictures/videos of SC2. The Demo Video is pretty awesome. =)

By the way, just because a game is professionally played doesn't mean it's "clearly" better. I like Warcraft over Starcraft and just because Starcraft is "professionally played" doesn't mean I'll like it over everything else. Heck, I used to think that the first Starcraft version was too imbalanced. As long as you were the first to get 8 corsairs, no matter what army you were against, you would win.

But meh, all first release RTSs will have their problems.

What the ...? Starcraft: Brood War came out in 1998. That makes this NINE YEARS of waiting. 9 days is nothing.

And I was actually expecting this to be a Starcraft 2 thread (yes, even though the '2' was left off) considering it's kind of a coincidence that right after (yes, right after) Starcraft 2 was announced, a Starcraft thread appeared.

Anyway, tsugomaru, what the heck do you mean by "first to 8 corsairs wins." That's not accurate at all ...

Probably? No, there's just a chance, just like any other game. Except this is Blizzard we're talking about, arguably the best game developer in the world, so the chances are almost nothing. Blizzard only disappoints when it comes to release dates. The quality of the games they release, though, is outstanding. Every single one. There are better games out there that aren't Blizzard games, but can you honestly say a developer has been as constantly amazing as Blizzard?

I've heard rumor about some new deadly characters in II. I'm quite exited to get back into Starcraft after played Warcraft, believe it or not but I miss it.
