Re: The PS3 Is Here.
You mean when Nintendo turned a profit on every system sold for both of those console sales? Uh oh.
Wii could fail and Nintendo would turn a profit because they're selling them at a profit. Minute details? You mean the facts that... 1) It doesn't fit on my desk? 2) It doesn't have any good games? 3) It doesn't have any good upcoming games? 4) It won't have any exclusive titles? 5) It doesn't look fun at all? Sorry, but get your oversized Blu-Ray player out of yours. Just at least tell me what you actually want it for. |

If I was to get a PS3, the only thing I'd do with it is play THP8.
That **** looks godly. Other than that, PS3 games look to be not worthy of anything.

Ahahaha. I love all the mudslinging in here. I read from #324, and was thinking, "Oh **** Squeek just got owned," and then he countered. I laughed so hard.

However, I'm not willing to get a Xbox360 just for THP8 either (I can't stand the controller of it either ugh). I'll be getting the PS2 version soon, and if that sucks too bad, I'll probably wait for a cheap used PS3 and get a "top sold" rerelease of it much later.

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
I don't see the Playstation or Playstation 2 sucking majorly or am I just naive? Don't get me wrong, the N64 showed the world the jump to fully 360 degree 3D, however, Sony capitalized on the growing market media with CDs rendering cartridges obsolete. I wholeheartedly believe had CDs not caught on, we'd be popping cartridges into the Wii, but I digress. Also, the Gamecube wasn't a disaster? "Oh yes, were making money off of each console we sell." What's the damn point if THEY NEVER SOLD WELL?
Also Squeek, most of the questions you asked were answered by yourself a while ago when you complained about how Sony makes shoddily made hardware and what not. Hmmm.... Let's see about that. You have the PS3: a sophisticated piece of machinery that functions as a multimedia center compared to the Wii: an innovative console whose whole purpose is in it's very name: to include everyone from children to adults. Which one would have more structure in order to avoid damage? Wii. Besides, why are you complaining about size? Last time I remembered, the PS2 was the first console to able to be turned sideways like a PC tower. The Wii can do the same thing. I wonder where that idea came from.... To end this rant, I'm a hardcore Sony fan. However, even I have enough common sense to know that $600 at this point in time is not a wise investment. There are no outstanding games for the PS3 out yet, the system isn't completely up yet, and errors won't even met me enjoy old games like Tekken 5. However, to blatantly point out faults in order to further prove "your point" only shows your extreme biased view to something that should be looked at objectively.

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
Like wat was said way back i'm gonna go out on a limb and say people bought a PS3 for the Blue-Ray and Graphics not inivation, and i hate the fact that the Wii cant play DVD movies and there gonna make you buy an entirely new Wii just to get that add-on Which stinks, i mean not just buy the add-on BUT buy another system *sigh* luckly i haven't bought either i've played the Wii and it was great but I quess I cant Pass to much judgement cause i dont own one.

And by the way, anyone who not buy a system because it doesn't play a movie format is stupid. By now, I'm sure everyone has a DVD player in their home, and if they don't, a DVD player can be purchased for a rather small sum of money.

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
The Gamecube had an extremely well launch but did not take back the market share like people had hoped it would. Dreamcast was not a disaster as well seeing how the Dreamcast out-performed the PS2 in its early times before Sega pulled the plug.

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
Even though the N64 was more powerful than the PSX, the PSX still outsold and got more exclusive third party games due to the freedom allowed with the CD format.
All those other systems sucked because no one cared about them. They could have probably done well if they had a HUEG electronics company behind them, but instead they just got sucky games. PS. Stand the PS3 on its side, takes up less room. |

Re: The PS3 Is Here.
Squeek, the whole "no space" argument is just bunk by now. Turn it sideways and you can stop complaining. Yes, I'm a Sony fan, but I still bought a Wii. Why? Because the Wii is obviously the best choice for a console at the moment. Once Sony gets the ball rolling with Heavenly Sword, MGS4, Stranglehold, Lair, and other games, then I'll want to get one. However, one game does not warrant the purchase of a $600 system no matter how good it is.
