The Wii won 6 baftas over here, which is cool. Shame the award show is fucking terrible.

You all know that Squeek is right. You don't need to have it on standby mode. Becides, when you turn on your Wii, you can get all those emails and stuff and you don't have to have it on.

Heck, I keep my wireless router unplugged too. Why would I want an open wireless connection all day and night? So someone can send me a message or a picture?
Squeek do you even have a Wii?

Well this is how I feel. If I wanna leave my Wii's wiiconnect24 on I'll do as I please. If you don't like that decision then I'm sorry that's pretty much your problem not mine.

I think the point was, Squeek had never heard of a problem with the system overheating because he turns it off, which is not unheard of, whereas you leave it running, which increases the risk of overheating the system, which is very illogical, given the amount that you're complaining about your system heating up.

I turn the system off but Wiiconnect24 stays on, thus instead of the power light on the Wii being red its a orange color. The only thing that happens to Wii when its like that is it gets moderately warm-hot but when running and the fan shuts off and you're playing a game then its obviously gonna shut down on you. And thats what happened.

So, you know the console gets hot even while it's off, but you keep it on.

See, that's the part that boggles my mind. I noticed mine was getting warm while it was "off", so I went into the menu and turned off the "features" that stayed on while I wasn't using the console. Then the red light bothered me, so I just unplugged it after each use.

The lights on the console don't really bother me. Its just when one of my friends send me a message at night (different time zones), the disc slot starts to glow a bright blue color and that kinda gets aggrivating. Other than that, I'm fine.

In the Wii main menu where all the channels are displayed, in the bottom right portion of the screen you should see a envelope. Press it. Then once the menu rises you should see an envelope in the middle of the screen (dont worry about it), go to the bottom left portion of the screen and you should see 3 buttons that say, Create Message, Create Memo and Address Book. The Address book is the one you want. Now once you press that button, it should show your Wii number (friend code) without you having to turn the pages. (Its 16 digits)

First things first, no double posting and if you mean a Nintendo Wi-fi USB connector then have installed the data that is on the CD onto your computer? And if that, do you have a broadband internet connection? If your problem keeps continuing call Nintendo and they'll help you.

I keep my Wii on standby mode all the time... but I turn off the light. It seems to help out a lot.

I got my free Wii remote jacket today. It is a little fat, but it helps. Especially during bowling.

I got my jacket back in October. It kinda disappointed me but I don't care now because its actually very useful.

I ordered mine with Nintendo first announced that they were gonna give free jackets to owners who had the Wii before the message was sent.

Ok check some of the following:
Is your Router encrypted?
If its not a router but a Nintendo Wi-fi USB connector, do you have a broadband connection?
Did you know that if all else fails, call Nintendo and they'll help you? Call customer service at 1-800-255-3700 and follow the steps from there.
