3 keys problem
hey, not sure if there is a topic about this already but I am just going to go ahead and post it anyway.
I recently gotten a new keyboard (razer lycosa) and it often does not register 3 notes at the same time. 70% of the time it misses all three notes when I most definately hit them. is there any way to solve this? I am running on windows 7. thanks.

Try a different key setup.

You can find programs online to test input and see which key setups can register all four keys at the same time.
Or you can test in stepmania.

Re: 3 keys problem
You might need to change your setup on your new keyboard.
Go here and use the app: http://www.microsoft.com/appliedscie...explained.mspx Hold down random keys and see if all four light up on the app. If they do, they'll all register simultaneously when you play FFR on that keyboard. Otherwise you'll need a different setup. |

Re: 3 keys problem
The Lycosa has pretty shitty ghosting i have to admit.
There are a few combinations that will work, though its easier to adopt something that uses the numkeys. |

Re: 3 keys problem
Ghosting is the correct term for what your problem is as said by FontSize. Most keyboards are 2 key anti ghosting. Meaning they will register only 2 keys one time. Most gaming keyboards are usually 5 to 10. I use a Logitech G15 which is 10 key anti ghosting. Its something to check before purchasing.
Windows 7 doesn't make any difference this matter, your problem is hardware related. You have to find a new keyboard. I can tell you that on razer's keyboards only the W,A,S,D cluster is anti ghosting. (I hate this, and im a avaid razer fan.) **NOTE: I hated all razer's keyboards until i saw the Black Widow 2013. 5 minutes with it and i was sold. I absolutely loved using my brothers new Razer Black Widow ultimate 2013 edition he got for Christmas this year. I use a K,L,5,6(numpad) set up for my spread. No issues. I will be picking one up in the next few months.

Re: 3 keys problem
ok thanks for the tips guys. I guess I could take out my trusted logitech keyboard just for ffr. it would be such a hastle though. not that I play ffr that much anymore. It seems like the easiest solution, as I was also having trouble with the pressing buttons on lycosa. Not sure what causes it but they are quite sturdy around the q,a,z,w,s,d keys.
