Saying we don't like mainstream is incorrect.

We don't crappy mainstream. FLCL, for example, is by no means crappy.

Knockin' on Heaven's door just seemed like an extended episode of Cowboy Bebop to me. That is: nothing special.

And at least some episodes of EVA were shown on CN.

Which is why some lesser-known Miyazaki films would be a good choice. Better yet, films that people don't hear much about like Grave of the Fireflies or Beyond the Clouds.
Grave of the Fireflies is the best goddamn anime ever.

Oh shi.... I totally forgot about that anime. I don't like most Anime, but that is one of the few I like, and the only one besides Naruto that I'd d/l. I remember seeing it mentioned on Bemanai style, saw it, and it was spiffeh, but I forgot about it after uninstalling Limewire.

But why do many here dislike Cowboy Bebop, and why does everyone everywhere else regard it as the "best anime ever?" Although not the greatest Anime, it's a pretty goddamn good show and you can't deny it or you are quite stubborn on your belief that all Animes brought to America are the sucky ones.

Grave of The Fireflies IMO is overrated. I have two choices for nominees: Interstellar 5555 and Akira. Interstellar 5555 is a stand alone music video/anime based off of Daft Punk's Discovery album, and quite literally Akira is the one anime that changed the way people viewed Japanese animation forever.

I hate the main character of Grave of the Fireflies way too much to consider it anywhere near my favorite movies. What an ignorant, arrogant idiot.

Anyway, going strictly with movies, I think I am going to have to go with either Laputa: Castle in the Sky or Princess Mononoke.

I, too, didn't like Grave of the Fireflies. It was just really depressing. Not the kind of movie that should represent the media forums.

lawl. I never even saw it.

I have like 10 movies on my computer that I have yet to watch. And yet, I see Advent Children and the FMA movie the second they're finished.

I have problems.

Spirited away or Princess Mononoke. Both were excellent films; both semed to run dry at times, but they added up for the better

So far the leading anime I've sen so far is Spirited Away, Akira, and Interstellar 5555. Are we okay for these three choices or are the nominees still coming in?

I could have sworn Castle in the Sky was up there, too.

Read or Die, just because I haven't seen many ani-movies, and it's my favorite one.

edit: ah nevermind, just read the first page.

X ? It's an okay movie, but maybe not.

Also I think it might be important to say that mai hime
was licensed, and I just noticed this.
